linestretch 0 #1 October 20, 2005 Here's the deal. I have a cypres that's expired, but the batteries are only 6 months old. And I want to put them in another rig, for the remainder of their 2 year life. My biggest concern is that some jack ass nazi rigger cop know-it-all is gonna get his/her panties all in a bunch and let everyone know how I fucked up. I don't see anything wrong with it....unless I'm missing something. If it's all documented on the data card......well?my pics & stuff!
Kris 0 #2 October 20, 2005 I know someone who did this. Their rigger simply moved the "Last Battery Change" sticker to the other unit. Just because the batteries have been installed once doesn't mean they can't be pulled out and reused as long as they're not over 2 years from original install or have gone over 500 jumps.Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™
Kimblair13 0 #3 October 20, 2005 Hey, you're a rigger...you can do it! Plus you made profile in parachutist and I heard you can do whatever the f*** you want when you get that.
Kris 0 #4 October 20, 2005 D'oh! He is a rigger, I didn't look at his profile. Yanno, he could always use that famous "It's up to the rigger to determine compatibility between parts" loophole.Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™
b1jercat 0 #5 October 20, 2005 Dude, call Ralph if anyone would know, he would. I can guarantee he will not get his panties in a bunch, but will give you a work around solution. blue skies bro Jerry
AirtecKai 0 #6 October 20, 2005 Hi, When you document this on the packing card (batteries valid until ....) and consider the total number of jumps the batteries already have, everything is fine from our side. Please put the battery sticker of the expired Cypres on the Cypres in service and also make a cross in the calendar at the matching month / year. No reason to not mount a set of batteries which can be used for the remainig time of 1,5 years in the other unit. Regards, Kai
rushmc 18 #7 October 20, 2005 I had a similar situation so I called Airtec. They told me it was fine. The only concern was keeping the records on the unit straight going forward. In short. Yes you can move the batteries. Just document it well and the swithing of the date sticker sounds like a good idea. smiler 0 #8 October 20, 2005 What about if you don't immediately put the batteries in the new rig? Say you have some batteries in a Cypres for 6 months, then that Cypres's lifetime is up so you take the batteries out. 6 months later you have another Cypres you want to put the older batteries into. Do those batteries then have a year to go or 18 months?www.wingin-it.co.uk Wingin' It wingsuit school

Do those batteries then have a year to go or 18 months? According to what I was told....the batteries are good for 2 years from the first or original installation, not two years of installation time. Hope that helps."America will never be destroyed from the outside, if we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves." riggerrob 558 #10 October 20, 2005 That's cool as long as you write on the packing data card: "Cypres batteries due for replacement on date y/z."
