Stress Free Job...which would you want to do?

Recommended Posts

Jeiber and I were talking about if I left my industry after 10+ yrs, what would be really cool and relaxing to do. He said he'd choose to be a Porn Star:D and I thought it'd be cool to poke flowers into styrofoam and a vase, hand them to the customer and say "Have a nice day":)
Feel free to add other creative ideas of a cool job you'd like to have.

Porn star? relaxing? The pressure to, uh, perform seems to significant to allow it to be relaxing.

Some of those look ok, but I get the feeling you haven't worked in the food service or resort industry. Unfortunately, I worked in both long ago.

When customers get to relax, you don't. After all, the point of relaxing is NOT to work. Consequently, owning/working at a coffee shop or working at a resort can be *very* stressful especially if you're concerned about customer service.

Back in the late 80's early 90's I used to think the video store clerk was the ultimate low stress job. Sit around and watch videos all day.:)

Now I think Forrest Gump had it all figured out. Operating a Rider Mower.

Some of my most recent rewarding experiences have been driving the Farmall around the DZ grooming the landing area.B| Snow removal would be cool, too.

Walmart Door Greeter - Although a no brainer, this has got to be the worlds most BORING job.

Own and/or Work at a Flower Shop - Highly stressful, you are dealing with something that has a short shelf life and even shorter while working with it. It is art. Owning it would add to the stress. Not to mention the customers who think you did not do a good job, want a refund, yet you cant send the flowers back.

Own and/or Work at a Coffee Shop - Same as above except you get to deal with teens who think they are cool, business people in a rush, and special orders like "I want a Vanilla latte hold the foam add whip cream , and just a dash of cocoa powder...I SAID JUST A DASH thats a pinch "

Make Arts/Crafts and sell online and/or at shows - Youd work hours and make little, although a living can be made, most artists are not compensated for their time in the project.

Work at a Resort where people come to Relax - Since others go their to relax people who work at those places have to take on more stress because they are compensating for the rich people who are relaxing and demanding.

Work as a PornStar - If a girl can fake it would be not to bad, although a guy has to "work" to get it up sometimes, esp if the girl is someone mentally he is not tuned to be attracted to.

Be a Bartender at a Swimup Bar in Mexico/Bahamas - same thing as resorts... except now your dealing with drunks on a more regular basis.

Be a TourGuide on an Exotic Island - That doesnt seem to bad... although it would get to be to much of a routine and thus similar to a greeter at wal-mart.

Be a JumpMaster - Most stressful of them all. Can be rewarding, and generally it is, but it appears from reading the threads pertaining to being a jump master that it is VERY stressful.

Hmmmm so my final vote is ............win the lottery:)
Sudsy Fist: i don't think i'd ever say this

Work with me here... in terms of a formal job... DZ or Golf Course Grounds Keeper. Someplace with a lot of grass to mow.

Grounds keeping can be relaxing... I never really fit in because I was "brainier" then the rest of my coworkers. It also helps to have the "bank" that Forest Gump had... cause the pay ain't so good...

When I retire I want to do Wooden Roller coaster maintenance. B|

I gotta go with being the bartender at the swim-up bar in Mexico.
Of course, I don't speak the language, but hey, it would be working with those rich American tourists anyway.
right now i'm working over mixed feelings about a possible promotion at work

I was quite envious of the guy who was my snowmobile guide through the mountains in CO. That seemed like a really cool, no-stress job to me.
