bigway 4 #1 April 30, 2009 I have just made the very very short short short list of a reality tv show. They want 11 people, I met the producers after the poker manager at sydneys casino put my name forward. Then filled out the first stage and then the second stage aplication forms, went for a filmed interview and now got a phone call today for them wanting to do the criminal record checks and medical checks. They have one more casting call on the other side of the country to do and will come up with another very short list. They will then put those short lists together and come up with the final 11. I asked how short is the list and they said short enough for you to start getting your affairs in order. It is going to be on network free to air tv, the show is already being advertised in tv adverts. 11 people live in a house filmed 24/7 playing a poker game each week until the final where someone walks away with 100K, sponsorship for major events and flights around the world to the big games etc and mentored by the WSOP champ of a few years back. I am all up for trying to win this thing but being on tv is something else to consider. I think the producers like the whole skydiving aspect being bought to the table. Anyway, my partner will post a link to where you can watch it if anyone is interested. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .

JohnRich 4 #7 April 30, 2009 Don't make an ass of yourself on public TV, like some reality show contestants do. Conduct yourself with your usual diplomacy and class, and look like a winner. Don't let the producers talk you into doing something that will make you look otherwise, for the sake of drama. That's what those shows are all about - conflict. So proceed with caution. Bite your tongue and be a good guy. Good luck!
kmills0705 0 #8 April 30, 2009 That is very cool! I was on the short list for the Discovery show "Alaska Experiment" and got to the point you are at now. I had to turn it down when I had to seriously consider it - too many real world responsibilities. They were fascinated with the fact that I was a skydiver chick. The tag line on the application was: "Join us, we dare you". My final line on my essay for the app was "Choose me, I dare you." Apparently they liked that. Can't wait to see ya on tv!Kim Mills USPA D21696 Tandem I, AFF I and Static Line I
bigway 4 #9 May 2, 2009 So I just found an interview with the WSOP champ who is the host and he is saying that this is a reality show that is big brother meets the apprentice and they want to show how poker players have poker affect their daily decisions in business etc or something? Anyway, kind of like bankroll management etc. I imagine it will be alot of business tasks etc. What you say Jhone makes alot of sense and I agree. I have actually always watched reality tv shows thinking, i can do that or i can do better than that. Now it is so close to me having a go I am starting to think, hmmm, can i really do that. I just know if there are any business tasks where we have to make money, sell a product, use a company for something etc etc like on the apprentice that some dropzone in the area will have me rolling up with national tv cameras searching for some help The host who made the show over the past few years has said that it can not be a normal poker show as there is already too many and it has to appeal to the wider audience. Maybe I can call joan rivers up and ask her to come and help for a task after her slandering of poker players. That surely would get the attention of the american poker fans and make good tv after her outburst on the apprentice.ANyway guys, I dont think should say anymore and imagine they will have contracts in place where contestants can not discuss the show until after it airs. To be honest, I sit here wondering if this show will slide under the radar or if it will be popular and interviews and all that come out of it. That is the part that freaks me out the most. What happens after it has been broadcast in oz and sold to other countries. I guess it could either be life changing in a good or bad way or it could just be as though nothing happened. If anyone has the poker book 'kill phil', i would love to read it or any other good books i should read. I have a pretty good game but always know i can improve it and maybe a good book before going in would be great. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
