Gawain 0 #1 May 24, 2009 So, STS 125 will be landing in California, and I'm tracking on NASA TV here: http://www.nasa.gov/multimedia/nasatv/index.html They're 2000 miles out, and 20 minutes from landing...how's that for F-A-S-T!! So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light! lawrocket 3 #6 May 24, 2009 I've been watching it since 0530 this morning. And yesterday morning. And Friday morning at 0445. I'm a total dork. My wife is hotter than your wife.
airtwardo 7 #7 May 24, 2009 Hey Rocket~ Could you hear it going over or are you way North? ~ If you choke a Smurf, what color does it turn? ~
lawrocket 3 #8 May 24, 2009 I'm a bit too far to the North, Jim. Probably by about 30 miles. I was in Paso Robles yesterday - I reckon they heard it there. I've heard the boom probably ten times in the past when I was living in the LA area and Santa Barbara. My wife is hotter than your wife.
ripcordkid 0 #9 May 24, 2009 i was standing in my drive way in east palmdale and heard the double sonic boom. (and then listened to to echo as the sound wave travelled to the south to the san gabriel mountains. pretty cool effect).couldn't (or didn't ) see the shuttle tho. rhaig 0 #10 May 24, 2009 a few years ago the timing was right that I got to see the ionized trail the shuttle left across the sky over TX for one of the night landings. about 45sec from horizon to horizon with a bright trail left the whole way. was very cool-- Rob
TEB6363 0 #11 May 24, 2009 Oh, you are not as much a Dork as I... We drove down last night and stayed at Tehachapi.... Checked the NASA Site and we were right on the moneyI've wanted to see it in person for over 20 years.. We also really wanted our son to see it... Once the plane takes off, you're gonna have to land - Might as well jump out!!
