Camping Gear Obsession

Recommended Posts

We are taking a friend of mine and her boys out camping over the summer. I sat down and created a list of all the camping gear Steve & I have:

6 man tent
3 man tent
2, 2man tents
large tarps
Rubber mallet
3 queen size air mattress
1 twin air mattress
2 Thermarest pads
2 -0’ sleeping bags
2 old cheapo sleeping bags
2 coleman stoves
1 pocket stove
Cooking pots / pans
5 gallon collapsible water container
2 large coolers
1 medium cooler
2 small coolers
4, two way radios
2 headlamps
Plenty of flashlights
etc.
etc....

And I want to go buy a shade tent....:)

I THINK I HAVE A PROBLEM... Is there a support group for something like this.

Just a California disaster kit. You're ready! Good girl.

:D

I also have enough dried food to last a month for 2 people. 2 first aid kits in the car, and 1 in the house.

It's a sickness I tell ya....

Heh... there is a support group. It's called "REI" ;)

okay, now I have to do it too.

Big ass boogie size tent
small 3 person 4 season tent
one person backpacking tent
ez up
2 queen air mattresses
1 king air mattress
two thermarests
one z rest
one big agnes air core backpacking mattress
three backpacking sleeping bags
two coleman sleeping bags
jet boil
five backpacking backpacks
two water filters
four coolers ranging from small to large
2 headlamps
3 daypacks, all hydration compatible
2 water containers
"survival" kits (enough for two; 1st aid, firestarter, signaling, etc)
hammock
solio solar charger

And we need to go buy 2 new coleman sleeping bags and a new, lighter weight 3 person backpacking tent this summer. Can't wait til we have a garage to store it in instead of the back room!

LOL Crap, I completely forgot about my packs (1 full pack, 2 small), hydration (2 packs & 3 bladders, 1 fanny), n water filters (2)

I'm jealous of the jetboil... I eye it every time I'm at REI, but I just can't justify the cost - my pocket stove works so well.

REI is a VERY dangerous place for Steve & I.... we're like little kids in a candy store... DROOOL DROOOOOL!

2 - 6 man tents
2 - shade tents
1 - roll top metal table (plus the 2 that come out of the trailer)
2 - camp stoves (1 with the trailer, 1 extra)
6 - water jugs (plus the water tank in the trailer .. and the outdoor shower!)
6 - coolers (4 large, 1 medium, 1 small) plus the 3-way fridge in the trailer
2 - queen airbeds
4 - twin airbeds
(keep in mind the trailer has FOUR beds - 1 king, 1 queen, 1 double, 1 twin)
1 - NEW cool floaty toy for the lake
2 - older cool floaty toys for the lake
4 - large propane bottles
5 - camp chairs
2 - small wooden, fold up chairs
5 - sleeping bags
4 - warm, cozy blankies
4 or 5 - warm wool blankies
6 - pillows
2 - airpumps for said floaty toys and mattresses
Various tarps for whatever needs a tarp

I'm sure I'll find more stuff as I begin to pack!

OMG, last year there was a guy in an RV at the campsite and he busted out a 50" plasma screen TV and started watching stand up comedy.

The Ranger politely asked him to leave the next morning.

Is that the technical term? :)

And to think he gave me shit about my chairs. At least I got the "technical term" correct for them ... :D:D:D

Thank you for that! ;);)

No worries - and I like having a bit of 'creature comfort', too...can make all the difference sometimes!

Last year at LP there was a guy with a big screen and a satellite dish and a generator. In a tent.
