OK, so assuming she's not just hot for you (not that there's anything wrong with that ), it sounds like she's just grooming/nourishing a good contact in her network (you); and there's nothing wrong with that, either, in principle. That's how good business is done all the time, of course. I think her mistake was that she went overboard - going too huge with the gift, thereby making you feel awkward enough to decline. What she probably should have done was send you something on the order of a gift certificate for a dinner for 2 at a really excellent restaurant in your area, or maybe 2 good tickets to a major league sports game... something like that - nice enough gift to get-er-done, but not so big that it's just too big. Sometimes it is overwhelmingly refreshing when someone actually is "just doing your job and assisting a customer", especially when one is paid by the hour or otherwise--not that you are. But,...these days lazy assholes are a given and I would rather do shit myself or compensate for competence.
