NAS synced via a VPN tunnel? Need help...

Recommended Posts

Anyone here familiar with NAS and VPN?

Here is the general idea.
I want to set up 2 NAS units at 2 locations and then I’m hoping that it would be possible to keep them synced over a VPN tunnel. (the initial setup will be done with both NAS units at the same location)

I want to use Smooth Wall as the point to point VPN tunnel and Netgear ReadyNAS RNDX400E.

Anyone has an idea if this setup is even possible?
Anyone that has a better suggestion for this setup??

Sorry for not being clear about this...

It's not that critical that both of the NAS units are being synced in real time. My plan was to set up some form scheduled task to sync them during the night.
