Life or Death Poll for captured snake

Recommended Posts

Greetings,

Went down to the barn, moved a tarp and there it was....Mr./Ms. Snake.

I snagged it and put into a secure container.
Labeled the container with warnings!

I think it's a juvenile Mexican Boot snake or the long name is Lirpalorophis Vernslooftz.

Your vote counts, liberty or death!
Action carried out at the end of the day.

Don't go away mad....just go away!

Why kill animals for no reason at all, I never understood it.

Well, if it's poisonous . . . there's a reason.

I don't know if it is or isn't. The "DANGER" on the container kind of implies it is.

You should feed the snake, give him a nice place to live and make him feel wanted and loved .......just before you yell Lirpalorophis Vernslooftz and whack his head off!

Sure, I agree that if it is a venomous it isn't particularly safe to have around... however unless I misunderstood his post... maxmadmax is the one who wrote "DANGER" on the container...

Most of the snakes found in the US are completely harmeless (if it has a rattle, stay away)...

and actually having a gopher snake, rat snake, garter snake in your yard/barn is very good for reducing the rodent and insect population... which is IMHO much worse then the snake popluation... because a mouse will get in my food... a snake will merely eat the mice (or other small rodents...)

Personally, I would let it go... but that's just me...

So what if it's poisonous.

If it poses no threat why kill it.:S:S:S

Just relocate it a long way away from the living areas, no need what so ever to kill it. Unless you're a complete knob that gets his jollies from hurting and killing small animals:S:S

Too much trouble and not ANYWHERE NEAR as entertaining. You are even being entertained by partaking in this post.

How far is far enough and how much time is the snake worth investing? 12 linear feet is my guess. Not far enough to make a difference if he doesn't want to keep it.

NOW - back to the poll . . . I don't believe that he was wanting feelgood wimpy-assed tree huggin opinions. He was actually just bored and wanted controversy over which type of machete or axe to use.

Hey no one is perfect, no matter how amazingly sexy they may look. And I'm working on it!
When was the last time I posted a "chubby" chick thread?

Working with a forestry company I see snakes several times a month. We usually only kill the poisonous ones that are in our way, and let the non-poisonous ones go about their business. For whatever it's worth...
I will be kissing hands and shaking babies all afternoon. Thanks for all your support! *bows*

No matter what, I woudl let it live , but would like to see a better (closer) picture of it, it almost appears to have the triangle Viper head, nto a harmless rat snake, but the colors look liek a harmlesss snake worth living in a barn or shed to eat rodents!

(Both will eat rodents for you, but any type of viper(Poinsonous snake) is better off left in the woods!

If you eat it and it makes you sick, it's poisonous. If it bites you and it makes you sick, it's venomous.

Ahhh…..perception and reality are sometimes two diverse subjects.

Some have "read" the post whilst others have not.
There is no Mexican Boot snake that I know of.

There is no Lirpalorophis Vernslooftz.

However in reverse this reads sihporoapril ztfoolsnrev, I hope.

Congrats to the following;
1. muff528 x 2
2. harmless
3. gravity surfer
4. Johnny Marko

Next time we cross trails the beer/bbq is on me.

BTW, I released it within 10 minutes. He/She slithered off into the detention pond just chock full of edible tidbits.

It was a mighty fine rat snake.

Until 4-1-2011

Don't go away mad....just go away!
