AggieDave 6 #1 July 5, 2010 I finally was able to take delivery of a new 2009 Honda ST1300. What a nice bike. None of the "extras" have been installed yet, but I've been able to complete break in mileage and some good training on it. This bike blows the BMW 1150RT I was riding smooth out of the water in many ways. Its definitely faster, the wet clutch helps with low speed maneuvers (BMW is all open clutch with a dry clutch). That says a lot, since the BMW was a very nice and capable bike! It's also a lighter bike, which is very nice. Although it will get heavier when all of the "avionics" are installed. My bike is the white one... (Skyriders, I tried to post at Neds, but it said that the board's attachment quota had been reached)--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." For work or play?! Some of the LEO's down my neck of the woods are riding the bike I have... Kawa Concours 14. It's very comparable to the ST1300 cept' it just has a bigger engine
AggieDave 6 #3 July 5, 2010 For work. The Kawi's are very nice, the problem is that the conversion for work is done by a 3rd party and not warrantied by the factory. That and literally nothing is made for them yet and it's nearly all custom application. So maybe in 3-4 years when we trade these scoots in we'll go that route, but for now its not really practical. Although the Kawi's are very similar and significantly faster than most other sport touring bikes on the market.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." usernametaken 0 #4 July 6, 2010 Will this be a DZ bike, something for work, or "whenever the hell I can ride it" bike? For instance, will your rig fit in one bag and helmet and jumpsuit and stuff fit in the other?"Think like a man of action; act like a man of thought." -Henri L. Besides, I'm a fat boy with a big rig, it doesn't fit in saddle bags. I have a Velo 111, but its in an old W-13 Wings with a PDr-176 in it as well.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
