What's the most annoying Christmas song?

That "Drummer Boy" version by Bing Crosby and David Bowie.
I hate the Grandma/Reindeer song too. I never found it the least bit amusing.

Any fucking song sung by carolers. They usually are church choir rejects that can't sing worth a shit. :S:P

I thought "Drummer Boy" as sung by Perry Como was the best one. Very few can get it right. And yes, Bing and David botched it up.

So you're saying there are benefits to being deaf... :D

You got that right! I usually just ignore them and pretend I'm not home. :D

Mary: What's that awful noise?

Joseph: Some kid is beating a drum over there by the door.

Mary: For God's sake get rid of him - can't the idiot see I'm trying to get some rest here! I've just been a labor for hours in a stable, and delivered a baby in a feed trough. What moron let him in here in the first place? Joseph - ARE YOU LISTENING TO ME?

I agree wholeheartedly with this poll.

I utterly despise the jingle-jingle crap.

However, I was at Camp Casablanca (a joint Austrian/Swiss/German base here in Kosovo) the other evening, and a six-piece brass band was playing Baroque style songs that were very nice, although I could not place the melody in any of them.

The also had a little Weinachtsmarkt, hot cider, and a few other traditional settings that were quite cheerful.

It's the hymns that I really like to hear the most...

It came upon the midnight clear,
That glorious song of old,
From angels bending near the earth,
To touch their harps of gold;
“Peace on the earth, good will to men,
From Heaven’s all gracious King.”
The world in solemn stillness lay,
To hear the angels sing.

Still through the cloven skies they come
With peaceful wings unfurled,
And still their heavenly music floats
O’er all the weary world;
Above its sad and lowly plains,
They bend on hovering wing,
And ever over its Babel sounds
The blessèd angels sing.

Yet with the woes of sin and strife
The world has suffered long;
Beneath the angel strain have rolled
Two thousand years of wrong;
And man, at war with man, hears not
The love-song which they bring;
O hush the noise, ye men of strife
And hear the angels sing.

And ye, beneath life’s crushing load,
Whose forms are bending low,
Who toil along the climbing way
With painful steps and slow,
Look now! for glad and golden hours
Come swiftly on the wing.
O rest beside the weary road,
And hear the angels sing!

For lo! the days are hastening on,
By prophet-bards foretold,
When with the ever circling years
Comes round the age of gold;
When peace shall over all the earth
Its ancient splendors fling,
And the whole world send back the song
Which now the angels sing.

And THAT, my friends, is Christmas music.

NOT "Grandma got run over by a reindeer".

Someday, people will learn to distinguish between the spiritual and the material.

When that day comes, we'll hear no more of those dreadful holiday jingles.

I can't wait.

My absolute least favorite is 'Simply Having a Wonderful Christmas Time' by Paul McCartney. That song absolutely drives me up the wall. I think what irritates me the most is the fact that IMO one of the best song writers/singers of our time would actually produce such a piece of shit.>:(

You mean much like Bruce Springstean did?
