Also, In a conversation with a very well educated and successful friend in the legal profession, (who also happened to be a heavy party drug user) she mentioned to me this; "Party" could mean almost anything. "par-tay" was commonly known as using pot, however it changed or merged with the shortened term "partake". Now sometimes known as "do you partake?"
