but-but, i'm just a little cozy teddy-bear in a cold, dark world!

:D:D:D

Ya a bear with a hell of a growl....does bull in a china shop ring a bell with you?B|

Apparently you don't watch mythbusters because they actually disprooved that one. :D:D The bull ran AROUND all of the shelves and didn't break a single thing.

Evidently, they never tried a rodeo bull with a rider trying to hang on for 8 seconds! Trust me, the china shop would be totally destroyed!

Considering the percentage of water covering the Earth, did you expect to hit land?

I would think that being almost anywhere in South America, you're pretty much guaranteed to hit somewhere in Asia. :D

wouldn't gravity draw you towards the centre.
You'd yo-yo past centre and back i would think,
Your initial plunge would take you a fair way past centre but not to the other side completely
You are not now, nor will you ever be, good enough to not die in this sport (Sparky)

It would, if you pumped the air out as Bill suggested in his evil plan.

ok can someone explain why,
Gravity of the Earth pulls to the centre, gravity is not effected by air pressure or resistance, so would you not be drawn towards the centre and your inertia throws you past but once past would gravity not start to draw you back towards the centre???

Think of it as a pendulum of sorts. You'd accelerate towards the center of the Earth, then slow as you went up the other side, then stop at the surface and start falling back towards the center again. This is assuming a perfectly frictionless environment, the vacuum.

yup i get that, but dont the gravitational forces increase the closer to the centre? if so i would think that they would prevent you from gaining "full swing" to the otherside?
Or would acceleration towards the centre be great enough to completely negate the stronger central forces?
