FlyingJ 0 #1 April 5, 2011 I'm curious what people have used and been happy with for cleaning up extensive and messy music libraries. I found J's post from 2007 with a few suggestions, but that's a lifetime in regard to software becoming outdated. So, what do you use? I'm dealing with about 250 gigs of music. 50% of it is very well organized and tagged. Unfortunately the 50% that is messy is disasterously messy. I have no doubt that 10-15% of the total volume is likely duplicates too. So, let's here it!Killing threads since 2004.
theonlyski 3 #2 April 5, 2011 There's a program (Ill have to look up the name) that works within iTunes and will update and tag all of your music. It cost something (not outrageous) but I never did buy it. All of my music was in pretty good shape before hand."I may be a dirty pirate hooker...but I'm not about to go stand on the corner." iluvtofly DPH -7, TDS 578, Muff 5153, SCR 14890 I'm an asshole, and I approve this message
micduran 0 #3 April 6, 2011 I use TuneUp Media. The trial version did a great job so I upgraded to the Gold Lifetime. It will look up album art, add tags, etc. It works with iTunes and Windows Media The current version does not dedupe but they are working on a program for that.Be patient with the faults of others; they have to be patient with yours. FlyingJ 0 #5 April 7, 2011 TuneUp is the one I've been thinking about. I would love to find something that I could just point at a folder, leaving itunes out of the picture, but I'll be hard pressed to find that.Killing threads since 2004.
