VincePetaccio 0 #1 July 7, 2011 OK, so what are everybody's thoughts? A 7-song album, runtime of about 28 minutes. EP or LP?Come, my friends! 'Tis not too late to seek out a newer world!
quade 4 #2 July 7, 2011 The standard in the record industry has an EP as less than 25 minutes. There are exceptions, but that's usually what the cutoff is considered to be. Edited to add In doing a quick check, this quasi-standard appears to come from the UK.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

(BTW- a great album to listen to at 4:20 while lying down on the carpet between the speakers. ...or so they tell me )
quade 4 #4 July 7, 2011 Well, remember what LP actually stands for, simply "Long Playing."quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
muff528 3 #5 July 7, 2011 Quote Well, remember what LP actually stands for, simply "Long Playing." Yeah. I was only pointing out in a back-handed sorta way that the number of songs didn't determine EP vs LP and at the same time providing a review for the youngsters who may have not heard (of) it. muff528 3 #6 July 7, 2011 At least one site says that EP was originally developed to compete with the LP format but they played at 45 rpm rather than 33 1/3 rpm. I really don't remember this about EPs since I only bought either 45 singles or LPs.
