Skyper 0 #6 November 1, 2011 this kind of videos show the difference between being skilled and being lucky. Great, great crew and ground emergency services...
Skyper 0 #7 November 2, 2011 some additional info about this incident... The pilot was one of the most experienced in LOT with 30 years of flying experience and over 15.000 flight hours. The plane was 14 years old and this is the first time the some malfunction happend to it. At the moment they arrived above Poland the plane had about 7 tons of fuel and has been flying over 1 hour above the airport untill some 1,5 tons left. Meanwhile the emergency services on the ground pour large amounts of fire-preventing liquids on the runway.

Bertt 0 #10 November 2, 2011 Four guys with Sawzalls and a pickup truck show up early the next morning. By the end of the day, they've got enough scrap aluminum to take the rest of the week off.You don't have to outrun the bear.
