Got all the kids what we could. The Harley Owners Group I belong to donated funds to a fellow biker who lost his home on Christmas eve to a fire that burned his home to the ground as well as made a personal donation. Spearheaded a toy drive that lasted all year long and made donations to a local school, and 3 other groups for needy families (not Toys for Tots). Held a 50/50 at our annual Christmas dinner and the funds raised were donated to 2 local food banks. Was a busy year/season...and every minute of it was well worth it. Could have used a few extra minutes for riding and jumping..but all is well in my heart. God Bless each and every one of you who can and does give.
So, you bring your beer?

Its 5 o'clock somewhere

Just asking:)

I think this is the first year I've ever given more than I received!

...but that has alot to do with my son and his mother being back in my life. I guess that outweighs the monetary value of what I've given, so it doesn't really count.

I spent waaaay too much on my and Mark's family, but I feel so blessed in the way the year is ending as to the way it started, I wanted to share in my joy.

I also gave to Toys for Tots, emptied my pantry for a food drive for homeless kids, gave my kids old bikes to a needy family at the local school and helped my mom donate all of my Grandma's old clothes (she passed Thanksgiving weekend) to Meals on Wheels so they can go directly to old folks who could use them. Even at 96, Grandma was a clotheshound and quite stylish; she had 52 pairs of shorts!

Hi Skynana

We don't usally give to the food bank unless we buy a mass qty of something at Costco that we can't eat.

But this yr a local high end eating/drinking place noticed "gentlemen" donating His #1 directly from the end of his Hose into the food barrel.:S

The bartender noticed something and went to check it out and :o. He served the gentleman before the slip up and and knew the suit wasn't drunk.

But the suit did pay the bartender with his CC. So he got a letter with a copy to the local cop shop . This is a samll town rhe suit tries to go back he'll be busted for tresspassing.:)
This IMO was so bad Even I feel the need to get some groceries and deliver them myself directly to the food bank.

It will be after Xmas but the food bank needs grocieries year round.

R.

We gave $ to a homeless shelter and food bank. I got Cindy a sweet Ruger 9mm gun - I think I will enjoy it as much as her :-) Also got her an exercise bike, Victoria's secret gift card, Jadore perfume, CD's, gloves, food processor, Pandora charms.

Nothing, other than charitable donations, we haven't done the madness of gift giving around here in 20 years. Our extended family just gets together for the sole purpose of enjoying each other's company without the commercialism, drama and tension of giving gifts and all that implies. Christmastime is much more enjoyable this way.
The older I get the less I care who I piss off.

Time and Love.

I made a lot of gifts this year.

Ditto. I planned 12 dates for my husband. One per month for the next year. The two of us made almost all the gifts we sent back to our family. Made about 20 rosaries and plus a few other things for the non-Catholics in the family. It was a good Christmas.

Made something for my grandmother and mother, bought some gifts for my friends and best friends' family that I'll be celebrating New Years with (being Russian and all, we do the whole tree/gifts/etc on the 31st/1st) helped out a few friends for some worthy causes, did a Secret Santa swap with some fellow designers, etc.

My best friend's family said "oh we don't want any gifts just you being here is great for us" so I KNOW they were lyin'. :D Had to get creative with the gifts.

My nephew turned 18 this year. For his birthday/Christmas/pending HS graduation I gave him AFF.

For his dad (my brother), to cover both Christmas & birthday (Jan 1), I bought a plane ticket to Florida to be able to WATCH his son do AFF. :)

We did some of those Salvation Army Angel cards, where you go buy the gifts for kids. It gives me a chance to buy toys for little kids again, something I don't get to do much. :)

Hi "Amazing Amazon,"
Mostly "Beer Bread." 'Started on Wednesday and made 3 loaves for Peggys' cousins and then 6 loaves on Thurs, Fri and Sat for a bunch of other friends and relatives. Sunday, Christmas, I made 6 more, took 3 to friends and 3 to Kate and Tony's Christmas get-together at Raeford. 'Made that batch with "XX" dark beer, the first loaf was gone in no time after Kate put it on the table!! "Good stuff!"

Yes you did. B|

But don't forget the AR-15 and the 12 yo single malt. Those were pretty nice things you gave me too. ;)

I gave Vskydiver a L & B Altitrack. :)

Yes, I did forget about the guns and booze. I did give that as well. :S:D

Donated money to our local women's shelter and some of my annual leave to a coworker that was hit by a drunk driver a couple months ago since her sick and annual is about to run out.

For my friends (and I'm proud of this one):
350 embossed, goldenrod business cards with the following phrase:

FAILURE
Your laughable understanding of the mechanics of parking a vehicle has earned you this embarrassing reminder that
YOU SUCK

-rooster
Find your peace, though the world around you burns
