I think the worst part is that the company assuming it was intentional didn't stand by the decision once there was public backlash and passed the blame to the supplying company and the proofers who check the product. If you put it in there as a gag or even a selling point to a certain group of people, own your decision

The first one could have been humorous but the manufacturer screwed-up with his response to the wording on the label.
The second one is just totally out of line and un-acceptable.

I've noticed a certain "cool" fad with degrading women lately. Web sites like http://www.broslikethissite.com/, which call women "slam-pieces", and tout women in subservient roles. I think immature men find it humorous, but it's only a matter of time before it crosses the line to commercialization. Hate sells.
