Father's day torture

Recommended Posts

Voila de l'argent = French for "Here's some money" 'cause that's what your kids want to hear.

Or Donnez-moi de l'argent" for "give me some money.":P

"Joyeuse fête des pères." is one way to say it, says a Belgian." Fete" means party or celebration. Substitute "jour" for "day".

Do they have Father's Day outside the US?

Both Father's Day and Mother's Day do exist here, but they're not very important celebrations. I don't think there's a special greeting, but "Fijne Vaderdag" (Good Father's day) should be OK.....

How do they pronounce that in Germany ?

In Oz its Fathers Day is first Sunday in September and Mothers Day is second Sunday in May as per the norm.

Fathers Day = Vatertag:

It's no official holiday but, always same day like Christ's ascension - so: it's free and many many fathers band together and go for a drink or two :)

Mothers Day = Muttertag:

Always 2nd Sunday in May, so: free, of course.
