CanuckInUSA 0 #6 October 3, 2011 Every year for the past few seasons people continue to predict that the Penguins will meet the Sharks in the finals and it never materializes. I would not be surprised if the Bruins repeat this season. But time will tell. Oh and like Remster I will say "Go Habs Go", but I will need to be a realist. Making the playoffs is probably a lofty enough goal for the Habs. Going anywhere in the playoffs is another matter. PS: there is chatter about the NHL banning fighting (only chatter, nothing concrete has materialized). But for those who want to see the NHL during it's rough and tough glory days here is a YouTube link you may be interested in. It is the complete game from back in 1976 when the Philadelphia Flyers (aka the Broadstreet Bullies) chased the Soviet Red Army from the ice with their rough and tumble intimidating and yes dirty style of hockey. Those were the days. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_IbC9KvYO2M Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

CanuckInUSA 0 #20 October 9, 2011 I was watching tape of a historic hockey game (Sept 28th 1972 from Moscow Russia) and certain images from 40 years ago just are not seen today in the modern era of the NHL. This picture seen here is not from this Sept 28th 1972 date (if I am not mistaken this picture was from the 1973 or 1974 season), but it was from the same era. Don't get me wrong. The players today are bigger, stronger and faster. But there was something special about hockey back then. Or maybe it's just my lost youth screaming out at me ... haha Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
grimmie 179 #21 October 24, 2011 Bobby Clarke, chief goon in charge of the Broad Street Bullies.Sorry Remi, the Habs really suck so far. How do you guys like your teams so far? The Caps look for real and finally have NHL goaltending. Why hasn't Jagr scored a goal yet? James Neal is carrying the Pens on his back! Sid and Geno who???The Avs, Panthers, Blues and Leafs (yes the LEAFS!) all look very capable of doing some damage this year. Detroit and Chicago will battle it out in their division for first. Will the Blue Jackets win a game? The Stars look much improved. How about Jonathan Quick getting 3 straight shut outs! Go Kings! And Ryan Nugent-Hopkins looks like the real deal. The Oilers will be awesome in 2 more years.
CanuckInUSA 0 #22 November 2, 2011 We are one month into the season and it is likely still too early to determine exactly who is good and who is not since there have not been enough games played yet. But something is wacky with this season if the October trends continue. Looking at the standings both Toronto and Edmonton are near the top of their respective conferences. masterrig 1 #24 November 2, 2011 The Wings need to get their act together... quick! They won 5-straight to start the season and as of last night, they've lost 5-straight!!! They look like slugs on the ice. No cohesiveness and too many penalties. Their power-play is in the cellar. I haven't seen them look like this since the '70's. They keep it up and it won't be 21-straight years in the play-offs. GO WINGS!!! The Jets are where they belong. So good to see them back in Winnepeg. Quote The Jets are where they belong. So good to see them back in Winnepeg. I could care less about the Jets, but you do need to get your spelling right. It is either "Winnipeg" or the other accepted spelling is "Winterpeg". Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
