JohnMitchell 14 #2 July 2, 2012 Very good article, paints Dan and our sport in a very positive light. It's a very good book, BTW. Next time I see Dan BC I need to get him to sign my copy.
TheRealOps7 0 #3 July 2, 2012 I just finished the book - I'm totally new to the sport and heard some guys at the DZ talking about it while I was doing a tandem. I picked up the kindle edition for a few bucks. It's really not about skydiving. Or plane wrecking. It's a great book about commitment. Clearly he has positioned himself to use both the fortunate and unfortunate events in his life to motivate others.

flyangel2 2 #5 July 3, 2012 OMG, have you read the comment section of that article. Perris Dude is at it again. I can't believe posters here haven't slammed the guy yet.May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. "Skydiving has more in common with loners and losers seeking an adrenaline rush, " - perris dude sounds like the sport is just right for him then. Back to the book- I downloaded it to my Kindle a few months back but didn't expect to like it. After all, the writer was one of the skydiving big shots while I was (and still am) a bumbling beginner. Then I started reading it. It was good! I think even non-skydivers would get a kick out of it.My blog with the skydiving duck cartoons.

grimmie 173 #10 July 6, 2012 Perris Dude is probably some loser that came to the DZ with his chic. He probably cried for his mommy on jump run, while his chic had the time of her life. You know she ran off with her instructor, leaving his sorry ass to a life of internet porn and Top Ramen. We all know BC has more class in his pinky than Perris Dude ever had. Don't waste your time. You're just feeding a loon...

If the article were about chess, his comments would be "It's just moving pieces around a board. Unlike REAL games blah blah blah..." Then again, you made it pretty clear to any non-skydiving reader that the troll was blowing smoke. Who knows? Maybe some of them will think Hmmm.... ...it's not just a bunch of adrenaline freaks? Doctors, lawyers, and teachers do this? Maybe I could...My blog with the skydiving duck cartoons.
MikeJD 0 #12 July 6, 2012 Let's hope he never find his way to Tail o' the Rat. "Unlike a real blog, this one is pure fantasy because it depicts skydivers as normal people. Also, it degrades ducks by portraying them as skydivers. Basically, everything in it is incorrect and would have been better explained by me. Don't ask me how I know. I just do." They generally give me a horrible impression of my fellow human beings, so I'd rather be blissfully ignorant of what is being said there. Oh, and I really enjoyed Dan's book. Namowal 0 #14 July 6, 2012 Quote Let's hope he never find his way to Tail o' the Rat. Heh. Well, I suppose he would liven things up in a Jerry Springer Show kind of way.On a whim I googled "Perris Dude" and it seems he also has airports, motocross, and boating (possibly more but I got bored) on his crap list and is quick to chime in with crass comments. We probably shouldn't be giving him that much attention here, but I have a hunch he either doesn't come here (or has been thrown out).My blog with the skydiving duck cartoons. I reported his posts as abuse and the "personal attack" topicYou are not now, nor will you ever be, good enough to not die in this sport (Sparky) My Life ROCKS! How's yours doing?
