After maybe 10 seconds in freefall, another guy fully equipped jumped on him while a 3rd held Travis' hands so the 2nd guy could hook Travis up to him. Not exactly like the Wesley Snipes stunt in Dropzone... Imagine if something went wrong and they couldn't hook him up in time?
