Recommended Posts

For those of you who do not know XKCD consider this an introduction.
It is a "a web comic of romance, sarcasm, math, and language."
Topics often feature programming, science, engineering and pop culture references.

The creator also runs a weekly blog where he answers unusual questions in a witty manner.
Today's post looks at "What place on Earth would allow you to freefall the longest by jumping off it? What about using a squirrel suit?"

DZ.com got referenced for the vertical speed of a wingsuit

Cotton candy wouldn't work -- at freefall speeds it'd be like hitting cement. Same thing goes for water. Aerogel might work if you had enough of it and could figure out how to not suffocate in aerogel after you hit it. It'd be hard to find a material in-between that would stay fluffy enough when compressed. I wonder if bubble wrap or a pit full of balloons would work. That's a much more interesting question! Hmm...
I'm trying to teach myself how to set things on fire with my mind. Hey... is it hot in here?

Kittens.

Kittens are super soft and fluffy.

Only if there is an underlay of puppies. They're a little denser, so you don't hit bottom without slowing down enough to survive.
