So, what are you reading at the moment?

Recommended Posts

Just finished Band of Brothers by Ambrose and then Beyond Band of Brothers by Dick Winters. Currently reading I Could Never Be So Lucky Again by Jimmy Doolittle.

The last living pilot of Doolittle's Raiders died a few weeks ago. He was the father of one of my best buddies when I was in the Air Force.

I intend to live forever -- so far, so good.

Dropzone.com forums....ease read:P

Same here.
Incoherent, inconsistent plot.
Strange mix of characters; Some one-dimensional; Some over-the top.
Long stretches of dull monotony, occasionally punctuated by wild drama.

Me too. However, my current book is "3.1416 And All That".

Roots by Alex Haley

You heard how Alex Haley died, right?

He committed suicide. He found out that he was adopted. :)

I'm pretty gullible. I looked up his cause of death. :D

Faith is the Hunter ~Ernest K. Gann

Uhhm, "Fate" is the Hunter. . . :D

I love that book. I have an old copy in hardback and have read it maybe a half a dozen times. His observations on aviation and existence hold true today.

Right now I'm reading "Balkan Ghosts" by Robert Kaplan, a look at the histories and cultures of the Balkan countries, and how that fuels the never ending ethnic feuds. [:/]

You'd probably enjoy "Currahee!" by Donald R. Burgett. I have it in paperback if you want to swing by after jumping and borrow it. :)
I think I'll put that Doolittle book on hold at the library. Thanks for the suggestion. B|

"A Fistful Of Charms" by Kim Harrison. Fourth book in the Rachel Morgan series. Witches, Dead and Undead Vampires, Werwolves, Elves, Pixies and Faries. What's not to love if you love fantasy? ;)

"Don't Vote It Just Encourages the Bastards"
-- P. J. O'Rourke

Sadly, PJ isn't as much fun to read as his earlier books.
I'm afraid he getting grumpy in his older age.
