Periodic years like this are a habit that more people should value. When I did my time in Europe (not enough), I fit my bicycle into my 20kg allowance, by putting some of the heavy stuff (chain, lock, pedals, toolkit) into my carry-on and hoisting it as though it weighed nothing .
