LAS VEGAS (AP) ‚ Authorities say a dispute about a recreational vehicle in a Las Vegas-area skydiving landing zone preceded an armed confrontation and police shooting that left a man dead during the weekend.

Police Capt. Matt McCarthy tells the Las Vegas Review-Journal (http://bit.ly/OvJC8K ) a skydiving company employee summoned police Sunday morning after a man in an RV wielded a rifle and refused to leave a drop zone near Jean Airport.

McCarthy says the man barricaded himself in the RV and was shot dead after he pointed a rifle at SWAT officers. No one else was hurt.

Or just some stranger who happened to park in the DZ's landing area?
