Sometimes people just want their very own brand new Odyssey. Same can be said for a lot of things - including big expensive coffee machines. I can buy beer for very cheap (a few places I can get it for free) and it takes very little money to make decent beer - some extract, hops, yeast, a big pot and a bucket. Total cost about $100 to start with, then $10 for every 5 gallons after that. But I spent a lot more than that on brewing because I think it's fun to make beer.
