P-51 belly landing

The pilot made sure to inform the tower that it would be a full stop landing. He also made a great landing, couldn't have been much softer!

She will fly again.

Don't know which plane that is, but Big Beautiful Doll was totalled 3 years ago in Duxford

Different BBD. This one was owned by Ed Shipley, don't know who has it now.

Once offered to trade my wife for a ride in that airplane….the pilot (I think it was Ed) paused a moment then said "Is she free and clear? No liens?"

I don't think any of the REAL (John D. Landers) BBDs was ever restored. Over the years I've seen several P51Ds painted as BBDs. The one that crashed at Duxford was built in 1951.

*** The one that crashed at Duxford was built in 1951.

Mustang production stopped in 1945.

Cavalier was rebuilding modified Mustangs beginning in 1958, some with new SN's: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cavalier_Mustang
