Merrick 0 #1 November 7, 2014 Just curious if anyone knows an effective way to track down some old gear? My dear wife would likely tell me I'm an idiot, but I'd love to find her old rig as a surprise for when we start jumping again. I don't have access to the email address I used when we originally sold it. Thanks for the help. And, a big what's up to all the old timers here, you know who you are. JohnMitchell 14 #2 November 7, 2014 How old is the gear? I don't think I'd want too many of my old rigs back. The new stuff is better.
Merrick 0 #3 November 7, 2014 LoL It's not THAT old, but has some years on it. I think the DOM was around 2001. All the Best, Merrick
Arvoitus 1 #4 November 7, 2014 It might be near impossible. Especially if you don't even have contact info on the person it was sold to. My current rig has a DOM of 2003 and I bought it from a Finn who was living in Texas, who bought it from some dude living in Boston who bought from some guy in New York. I imagine for some rigs it might get even more horrible then that.Your rights end where my feelings begin.
piisfish 135 #5 November 7, 2014 Hi Merrick welcome back. Any idea to whom the gear was sold ? Maybe try and track it by riggers if you still have serial numbers. Good luck :-)scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM
Merrick 0 #6 November 8, 2014 I do still have all The information, serial numbers such. Would a local rigger be able to track it that way? All the Best, Merrick
BIGUN 1,051 #7 November 8, 2014 Not really. They put it in their log and move on. One idea might be to list it as stolen and see if it pops up. JUST KIDDING Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
Merrick 0 #8 November 8, 2014 BIGUN One idea might be to list it as stolen and see if it pops up. JUST KIDDING HA! That would be hilarious. Sounds like since I don't have the contact info of the guy I sold it to I may be SOL. Thanks for the help guys. All the Best, Merrick
wmw999 2,120 #9 November 8, 2014 The only other thing I could think of would be, if you know where they jumped, to ask about anyone jumping gear that looked like that. But it's a really long shot. BTW, my rig that I still jump is older Wendy P. There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. (tbrown)

Merrick 0 #11 November 8, 2014 Hey Don, how the heck are you brother. Nothing's really changed, 2/3 of our kids are adults now, and I need a little more nylon and jet fumes in my life. All the Best, Merrick
