JohnMitchell 14 #1 December 10, 2014 As many of you know, my wife, Vskydiver, and I run a non-profit organization, Leap for Lupus. Lupus, an autoimmune disease that strikes mostly women in their teens and twenties, can be severely debilitating and too often fatal. Valinda (Vskydiver) almost lost her life to it a few years ago. Today we did our annual presentation to the University of Washington Medical Research Center, $25,000 this year, to help them in their research towards treatments for this disease. Today they briefed us on a promising new drug they are developing, RSLV132, now entering 2nd phase human trials. We wish them continued success. So many of you here ( and gear manufacturers and many others in our sport) have been a huge support for many years in our fund raising efforts. A huge "Thanks" again to all of them and all of you. We literally couldn't do it with out you. John Mitchell In the picture are, from L to R, me, Valinda, Dr. Keith Elkon, and John Kowalewski, a long time jumper and tireless supporter. skymama 35 #2 December 10, 2014 Your efforts are so impressive every year. It must feel great to know you are making such a difference in the lives of people you don't even know! What a great legacy for you and your family. She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
