Shell666 0 #1 July 22, 2006 Does anyone know of any free software (for a Mac) that can retrieve deleted photos from a memory card for a Canon Digital Camera? My friend just got back from Florida and when he was drunk at the Grand Prix last night, he accidently deleted all of his photos from his trip. Any ideas?? Thanks! Cudlo 0 #6 July 22, 2006 sorry. I couldn't help myself. But, seriously... I'm not sure there is a way to retrieve deleted data from flash memory. I could just be behind the times tho._________________________________________ "People demand freedom of speech to make up for the freedom of thought which they avoid." - Kierkegaard

Cudlo 0 #8 July 22, 2006 Well.. to try and avoid being strangled, I have been looking. Havn't found anything free for Mac yet. On a side note: (not being a mac expert) I seem to recall Mac OS integrating unix a few years ago. Now.. if Mac OS is in fact capable of running *nix apps this may work out. http://sourceforge.net/projects/flashback_________________________________________ "People demand freedom of speech to make up for the freedom of thought which they avoid." - Kierkegaard
The111 1 #9 July 23, 2006 On a hard drive I used a program called GetDataBack to recover deleted data. I have no idea if this would work on a solid state memory card.www.WingsuitPhotos.com

freefalle 0 #11 July 23, 2006 what kind of card is it, most of them have some form of recovery software, I know I got a program at ritz that I think works on both PC and MAC, it was inexpensive, like 20.00 if I recall correctly

kelpdiver 2 #13 July 23, 2006 one of the better known programs out there isn';t free, but I believe does have a preview mode and will tell you what it can restore before you pay. The various undelete programs should work - it should be a fat32 file system.

The111 1 #25 February 15, 2015 He would be the world's most patient advertiser ever if that's what it is, since he posted that he had the problem himself nearly a month before he posted that he had a solution. And now he appears to value making jokes more than giving up the URL to his hypothetical product. There are dozens of solutions to this problem in general. My post was only meant to point out that an "I solved my problem" post helps nobody (and doesn't really say anything significant, for that matter), while a "_X_ solved my problem" post is actually worth the space it's posted in. :-) It's a common problem in tech forums (i.e. people making a post just to say "this issue is closed" rather than why it is closed). www.WingsuitPhotos.com
