grue 1 #52 March 9, 2015 Peanut butter on both slices, otherwise the jam (jelly has no place in any self-respecting person's life) soaks into the bread.cavete terrae.
Fireplug 0 #53 March 9, 2015 PB&J are out. Nutella and Marshmallow Fluff, grilled on the bread, like a grilled cheese, are in. The delicious chocolate nutella and white fluff get all warm and gooey. It's like a giant campfire 'smores on bread. Once you've gone grilled nutella & fluff, you'll never go back to PB&J again.

tigra 0 #56 March 10, 2015 I have to admit, there is something about Goobers. But now I do almond butter and fruit spread - sometimes on a flour tortilla, sometimes whole grain bread.

SmokeJumper 0 #58 March 10, 2015 Used to have grilled PB sandwiches as a kid. Haven't had one in too long. Gonna have to make some this weekend. Never had jelly with ours; ate them straight up accompanied by rippled potato chips. Delicious!
ZigZagMarquis 9 #59 March 11, 2015 Do you toast the bread or use un-toasted bread? I prefer to toast the bread and then use it to make a PB&J sammich. Do NOT make the PB&J sammich and then try to toast... it won't go well... just sayin'.

Zep 0 #63 March 11, 2015 The problem with PB is their is no way in hell you can eat it with out lashings of salt, I can't stand Jelly or the taste of added sugar and as I'm on a salt free diet I'm stuffed, Oh, I used to love PB on toasted bread with Marmite. Also PB slavered on Weetabix and dipped into a glass of milk, nearly every morning as a kid. Gone fishing

masterrig 1 #66 March 12, 2015 jimmytavino P B & J sandwiches were a real staple for my siblings and me....when we were kids... Mom would lay out 8 or ten sheets of waxed paper, and then deal out the slices of wonder bread like it was No Limit Texas Hold 'Em She bought the Peanut Butter in Half Gallon glass jars !!! and then saved every One of them. ( She used them to put her World Class Macaroni Gravy In them , and then freeze. Meatballs went into a second Jar ) Usually grape jelly, Also from a BIG Jar.. Peanut Butter TODAY..... MUST have a different ingredient in it... 90 % of the kids in our elementary school lunchroom had PB&J sandwiches in their brown paper bags and There was NEVER ANY hint of an "allergy "....Nowadays, it's ALL changed.. either the Peanut Butter is Stronger... Or the Kids "are weaker " Really...... How many here, who were kids decades ago....EVER saw or heard of such allergies???? I've gotten away from Wonder Bread... but to this day ,,,,, Can't shake the love for PB&J.....Still enjoy one whenever I have a bowl of Soup... There ya' go! My favorite to this day is a PBJ using toasted sliced homemade bread, chunky peanut butter, strawberry jam and a bowl of chicken noodle soup! I don't know about protocol but I know what I like!
