Cool.
Hey did you see the other story on the page about bending wood in a vacuum using pressurized ammonia? I've always wanted to do that.

Funny you brought that up.
I watched that video and sent it to a friend who does wooden boat repair.
He uses steam to bend replacement boards.

The downside is anhydrous ammonia is nasty stuff.
They showed us this video in EMS class: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=znQwAcOQffQ

.880 ammonia on iodine crystals produces a black residue that is a touch-sensitive explosive when dry. (Way too sensitive for nefarious applications, and not particularly powerful).

More fun than bending wood.

It was a popular toy among the engineers when I was in college :D. Keyholes, desktops, anyplace where a small bang could make someone jump to great effect.

There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. (tbrown)

"Keyholes" - what?
"desktops" - hmmm, yes, yes, do tell.
"anyplace where a small bang could make someone" - oh, yeah, baby.
