User search

I am sorry if this is a forbidden question or one any idiot should know. But I just tried to use the user search link at the OP of the page right next to the rules link. And it displays a message that I am not authorized to view. I know I have used it before. What could be up? Thank you in advance.

I get the same thing. I don't ever remember clicking on that particular "button" before.

But if I click on "Who's Online", I get a page that offers a search.

IIRC (which may or may not be "correct"), premium members get a few extra perks, and that advanced user search is one of those.

That could be so. I did not think of that. But I did just PM skymama so I should have a definate answer at some point. Beings how it is almost 11 o'clock in Florida I am not expecting it tonight.

I don't remember that either, I've only used "User Directory", so I couldn't say if it's always been there or not.

As suggested above, the User Search is a functionality that is enabled for premium members - it should actually be hidden for any non-premium members, so not sure why it's showing up , but should probably take a look at that ;)

Just a suggestion.... Instead of hiding the functions associated with Premium membership, leave the link in place but, instead of the "Permission Denied" message, have a message indicating that the function is available only to Premium members. Then provide a link to a page promoting Premium membership. Just looking at it from a marketing POV. After looking around the site, I finally found information about Premium membership after clicking the "Help" button and looking through the topics. Well hidden.

Thank you Meso. I do not remember seeing it before and clicked on it to see what it was and was suprised to see the response. But now I know thank you and keep up the good work I wouldn't know what to do without this place.

Thanks for the kind words :) Especially since my presence has been a bit lacking recently, due to working on some exciting things for this site behind the scenes (more on that at a later point).

That's not a bad suggestion Muff, and will look into doing that instead. I know that our premier membership stuff is quite hidden ;) At least you guys know that we're not trying to milk you all for cash hah!
