The local news is confirming a single fatality so it would seem that he wasn't able to eject successfully condolences to the family:( two separate incidents. That one was in Colorado. This just happened here in tennessee within the last hour or so. At the Smyrna airport.

There's definitely some mixed reports.

"The Thunderbirds had just finished a performance at the Air Force Academy’s graduation ceremony. President Barack Obama, who was the commencement speaker at the ceremony, met with the pilot after the crash and thanked him for his service, according to the Thunderbirds’ commander."

Two crashes today. One of the Blues. One fatality, I think. ...and one of the Thunderbirds after flyover at AF Academy. I heard pilot ejected safely. Reports that Pres Obama attended the AF Academy commencement.

Photos of the AF Academy crash are pretty wild. Pilot ejected safely, although landed pretty damn close to some power lines. Plane looked almost intact.

Damn! You're right.
I can't recall ever seeing the remains of an ejection looking that good!

I think the Cornfield Bomber survived in even better condition.
