For whatever reason, looking down and seeing the structure supporting me, sends chills up my spine. But looking down from an aircraft doesn't bother me."There are only three things of value: younger women, faster airplanes, and bigger crocodiles" - Arthur Jones. I wonder how many skydivers have a visceral fear of heights that isn't triggered when we aren't attached to the ground?lisa WSCR 594 FB 1023 CBDB
MikeJD 0 #10 August 30, 2016 oldwomanc6 I wonder how many skydivers have a visceral fear of heights that isn't triggered when we aren't attached to the ground? Count me in with that group! On a recent visit to a 38th floor open-air bar in London, I alternated between admiring the view and really, really wanting to go back indoors. The barrier was barely more than waist-high, and irrational though it is I could easily imagine myself toppling over it. Interestingly, wearing a BASE rig makes a huge difference - I found Bridge Day seriously intense, but not as scary as standing on a balcony at height with nothing but my shirt on my back, regardless of having no intention of jumping off it!
