rollinsjumper 0 #1 May 25, 2011 Hello, I am new the the forums, and would like to say thanks to all of the knowledgeable divers who post. I have gotten to jump #6 in my AFF training, but have been stuck there due to winds. It is driving me crazy, and I am very jealous of those who live close to large jump zones. skymama 35 #2 May 25, 2011 Welcome to the forums! She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
faulknerwn 38 #3 May 26, 2011 No kidding! Winds have been crazy this spring. But hopefully summer is almost here and the winds usually drop to 0 as the temperature rises to 110 :-)
rollinsjumper 0 #4 May 26, 2011 Yeah wind kills golf and boat, now sky diving...pretty much all my hobbies. and it just sounds wrong to say, i took up sailing because it was to windy to ski dive.
MX304 0 #5 May 26, 2011 Yeah, but it is a looooong way from West Texas to any decent sized body of water.
smulder 0 #6 May 26, 2011 I know how you feel. Between the high winds and the grass fires it's hard to make any jumps.GET BUSY LIVING OR GET BUSY DYING. WHAT'S THIS WE SHIT WHITEMAN? SHE LOOKS FAST TRUMAN. YEAH, IT'S THE STRIPES
rollinsjumper 0 #7 May 26, 2011 The fires have been nuts. My uncle just retired and bought a house on possum kingdom, the fires came up to his drive way. He got very lucky! I guess mid summer is when we will start getting some decent days huh
AdrianGlave 0 #8 May 26, 2011 +1 on the unable-to-finish-AFF-due-to-wind frustration. What's worse is seeing the 5 or 7 day forecast mention 6mph winds and by the time you get there they've shot up to 18mph! AFF#1 on March 6th and I still AFF #5 to do next :( Depending on which service, I look at this weekend [Sunday/Monday] might be at 12mph which is workable. I hope it is and I'm hoping to get 4 jumps over the two days. In reality, I'll probably be learning to pack.
rollinsjumper 0 #9 May 26, 2011 Well your worse off than me, at least i can say I have more jumps than dropzone posts still. I still have not learned to pack yet, kinda sketches me out. Hope its more fun than it looks ha
