thebeev 0 #1 May 21, 2004 This might be a stupid question, but.... Thinking of buying the Protrack, I have a Z1. I know the audible part will work. But will the other functions still work for being stored inside the Z1. I notice with the freefly headgear the protracks are snapped on the outside of the helments. Wasn't sure if being inside the Z1 will disrupt its functions. Blue OnesMedbill DME Billing Service
Brains 2 #2 May 21, 2004 No problem. Mine works inside all my helmets including the Z1 Never look down on someone, unless they are going down on you.
scottjaco 0 #3 May 21, 2004 I heard that having it on the outside makes the readings slightly more accurate, don't know if this is true or not. Some people put it on their ankle.
ianmdrennan 2 #4 May 21, 2004 Check out the Neptune as well. It's just as good as the protrack (if not better) and is cheaper too. Either unit will work fine in the helmut. Blue ones, IanPerformance Designs Factory Team

BadDog 0 #7 May 22, 2004 Should you happen to win the lottery, consider having a Neptune on your wrist, a ProTrack on the left side of your Z-1, and a ProDytter on the right side of your Z-1. Just a thought. Well, maybe a dream.
phoenixlpr 0 #8 May 22, 2004 I had Protrack first, Z1 second. Good combination, I love it.
mr2mk1g 10 #9 May 22, 2004 No problem whatsoever with it being inside your helmet. When you see FFers with their protracks on the outside of their helmet it probably isn't by choice - it's just that thier helmet doesn't come with internal audiable pockets. A protrack is most accurate on your ancle (according to L&B) and will suffer slight loss of accuracy if you mount it on your head regardless of whether or not it's inside or outside. If I jump with a friend with his protrack on his ancle and mine in my helmet there is very rarely any meaningfull difference. This will be true of any freefall computer and is simply down to the shape of our burble rather than the workings of the specific product.
andyflylife 0 #10 May 22, 2004 Ive got a Z1 Evo and my Pro-Track works splendid inside the audible pocket!! The thought of mounting £190 worth of audible on the outside and risking loosing it through a riser slap doesn't bare thinking about!! Blue skies "swooper 24/7, 365!"
