Hi Everybody!!

Recommended Posts

Hello hello
my name's natalie and my home dz is Grand Bend in Ontario. I did my first jump three years ago but most of my jumps have been this year, since i bought my own gear and all that stuff over the winter. I was having tons of fun this summer learing to sitfly and working on my B but then i had one of those icky landings. It was partially my fault for flaring a bit late, and partially from turbulance, but i ended up with a spiral fracture above my ankle and a displaced joint, and then i needed to have surgery right away and have a metal plate put in......So i can't jump and i can't work and i already spend tons of time reading the forums so i thought this would be the perfect time to introduce myself...i don't know why i didn't do it sooner:)oh and one more thing... the doctor was trying to tell me to take 6 months off but i think that is crazy!! i'm still hoping to make it to richmond! I'm sure there are lots of jumpers that have had or know someone who has had a similar injury...how long do you think it will take?

Hey there Natalie... heal up and come to Lost Prairie next summer with all the Canadian girls from BC and Alberta....they were well represented there.

Mad John usually has a load or two called the Heavy Metal Load.. for those with metal in thier bodies....B|

Give your body time to heal.... in the long run it will be better for you. And listen to the medieval torture specialists.. I mean physical therapists.( now you know what the former Spanish Inquisitors are doing in this lifetime). in the long run they are really trying to be helpfull even if they DO seem to enjoy your pain a bit too much.:P

Spiral fractures are particulary a problem. Clean breaks heal better and form stronger joints.

As much as you may hate to, give yourself plenty of healing time. To jump again too soon and re-injure yourself will cause much more grief than waiting out what your Dr. advises.

Be safe!!!
