sangiro 5 #1 July 14, 2014 Heya all, We've implemented a feature that will enable you to report any spam you see int he forums to moderators. In the top right corner of every post you'll see a little red no-spam icon. Please help us by clicking on that when you see a spam post and it will help us keep these forum clean. [inline report_spam_button.png] Use this button for SPAM ONLY please. Don't abuse this by reporting posts that you don't like or even posts that break the forum rules. There's some voodoo that happens in the back-end specifically related to spam that kicks in once this has been tapped a couple of times. Thanks for helping us keep the house tidy.Safe swoops Sangiro
ryoder 1,576 #2 July 14, 2014 Excellent! Now we also need one for PM spam, like the ones I'm getting today from "lovethph". "There are only three things of value: younger women, faster airplanes, and bigger crocodiles" - Arthur Jones.

sangiro 5 #4 July 14, 2014 ryoder Excellent! Now we also need one for PM spam, like the ones I'm getting today from "lovethph". That username sounds completely legitimate to me... It's a good idea. We'll see how we can incorporate PMs into this.Safe swoops Sangiro

Deyan 36 #6 July 14, 2014 Is there an "undo" spam report button for people like me who "report spam" by accident when scrolling up/down on their phones "My belief is that once the doctor whacks you on the butt, all guarantees are off" Jerry Baumchen
promise5 17 #7 July 14, 2014 Oh crap!!! I think I should have read this before I clicked on the icon. Uuuummm just ignore my spam notice. No matter how slowly you say oranges it never sounds like gullible. Believe me I tried.

Amazon 7 #10 July 14, 2014 promise5 Oh crap!!! I think I should have read this before I clicked on the icon. Uuuummm just ignore my spam notice. I was wondering just how many people clicked on all of my posts using that button already.
promise5 17 #11 July 14, 2014 It wasn't me!!! I clicked on Billy's post, I was just wondering what the icon meant. I didn't mean to spam him. I've noticed a lack of blonde consultation around here before they make changes. Something they really need to rectify. No matter how slowly you say oranges it never sounds like gullible. theonlyski 3 #12 July 14, 2014 If you put your mouse pointer on the icon, the mouseover actually says 'Report as spam'."I may be a dirty pirate hooker...but I'm not about to go stand on the corner." iluvtofly DPH -7, TDS 578, Muff 5153, SCR 14890 I'm an asshole, and I approve this message

Now I'm imagining a button on someone's username that just lets you send them spam. Hey, Billy? Need some viagra? Know a Nigerian Prince?? Imagine the carnage! BIGUN 1,232 #15 July 16, 2014 promise5 I've noticed a lack of blonde consultation around here before they make changes. Something they really need to rectify. I'm thinking they just need a button for Promise5 that says, "Report as Blonde." Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard. BillyVance 34 #17 July 20, 2014 Seems like the spam button's working good. I havent had a chance to use it yet. But if I could give a little criticism... Some of the forums are showing an obvious spam thread title as the newest post, but when I click on those forums, that thread is already gone. Any way that when a thread is deleted or spammed, could it also disappear from the list of forums where it shows as the latest post?"Mediocre people don't like high achievers, and high achievers don't like mediocre people." - SIX TIME National Champion coach Nick Saban

skyjack71 0 #19 July 20, 2014 Right I spammed myself twice before I knew what it was. Then someone else spammed me because he did not like what I said...yet, that person has been using the DZ to sell his book for yrs. Does a theory count as spam? MikeBIBOM 0 #20 July 29, 2014 It took a few seconds to appear, during which time I'd already accidentally clicked it on my finicky Macbook trackpad, and on a Mod's post. Seconding or thirding some kind of "are you sure?" gate before actually sending the report.
wmw999 2,336 #21 July 29, 2014 Fourthing it. Also suggesting that, in the are-you-sure screen or dialog, a reiteration of the point that the spam button not be used for something you just don't like. Wendy P.There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. Scrumpot 1 #22 July 29, 2014 It's right next to "reply", and on my tablet, I came even close to clicking it here... on my (post wisdom) mentor hero, Wendy!! Here's a 5th nomination, for an "are you sure" and why... being needed prior to actual just click-bam, submit. coitus non circum - Moab Stone

And while we're talking about are-you-sure screens, one would also be helpful for the "add friend" link, as it appears close to the link to look at someone's profile, which is easy to mis-click on a smartphone. Andy9o8 1 #25 October 9, 2014 Still need that are-you-sure screen, and maybe a repositioning of the spam button. I just marked one of my own posts as spam when trying to edit it on my smartphone. Also respectfully reiterate same point re: "friend" button as I mentioned up-thread.
