Yep about 30 minutes of coverage on KOVR.

They reported he had been hanging there since 6:45pm.

I wasn't able to get anything on the news down here, but here's to getting down safely...
I really don't know what I'm talking about.

Any idea on what happened? Sounds like a respectable S/U delay with line twists and that he hit the wire with his body. Or maybe a S/D with line twists.

Bummer. Heal quick.

Yo !

After all the usual "get well soon", i would like to say this:

There is no excuse for hitting a guy wire on a slider-up jump. This is a rare case where any fine, probation or jail time is well deserved and is hardly enough to punish for such a mortal sin.

bsbd!

Yuri.

This guy is the same one that went in, in Vegas 4 days short of a year ago. He could barely walk yesterday, what was he doing climbing an A ?He said it was his birthday yesterday, I guess it will be one he remembers... sort of (420).

In general, I agree. I've posted some thoughts on how this could have happened in the other thread.

Very Nice, In Fact! Most of these kids have never heard of Mr. Ryde, don't know all the close calls and fiasco's he's been "entangled" in, nor his classic place in our history. Keep up the subtle (poke, wink, nod) education Nick!

I've had the pleasure of jumping with Eric Ryde in the mid-90's. He's a great guy and hopefully, one day, his story can be openly told in detail to the masses (if it already isn't common knowlege).

Long live Eric Ryde.

And then there are those of us who are chuckling, but only to fit in... because we have no idea what's going on. :P
I really don't know what I'm talking about.

Hello,
Eric has been very helpful over the years.
He prefers to remain under the radar.

Actually, I think it's kind of better if the story of Eric Ryde is passed on by word of mouth, in person. His legend is great, and his deeds (and misdeeds) legion.

I think he used to post on BLiNC, but I haven't seen him here.
