Flight Data Tracking App

Recommended Posts

Hello All,

I was wondering if anyone out there has stumbled on an iPhone app that tracks altitude, glide ratio, gps, etc. for a wing suit jump? I've seen a few post on this website, but they all seem a few years old and the apps are not on the app store any more. Anyone know why that is?

The GPS in a phone is generally rubbish.
Some time ago someone posted a GPS track from his phone and it looked awful, and the "landing" was ~100 ft in the air.

My advice is to get a device built for tracking skydivers.
Or a external GPS device for your phone, not sure it will work as good as FlySight but it will be better than built in GPS.

BASELINE works fairly well, but the Flysight is truly the way to go.
If you have any intention of competing in an FAI-sanctioned Performance event, you'll need/want a Flysight anyhow.

For competition, a Flysight and Paralog are essential, IMO.

If you are really interested in the data, the Flysight is a great tool. If mine broke, I would have to get another one right away. But I am a bit of a data geek. I like to see exactly what I did and where I flew.
