Had a short day-pass from the wuffo family vacation to air-out. Definitely worth bringing the rig! If you're looking for big/fast planes, well... there' not here. But if you're looking for a friendly place to jump, work on basic skills and enjoy the view, this is it.

I grew up at a Cessna DZ and this reminded me a lot of home.

While my pass ran out too early, SET got me up twice with minimum delay (loaded up at least as quick as my current home DZ with an Otter, even if the planes don't climb as fast).

Did I mention the air conditioned packing areas?? Wonderful feature that'll have me back next time I'm in the area.

Thanks for the hospitality!
JW

I had such a great experience at SET. Dropzone owner Gary picked me up (since I was without car), made me crash in the DZ basement, took me to a restaurant so I could eat and gave a indepth upfreshing of my AFF skills. I had some awesome jumps and look forward to come back.

I would recommend Skydive East Tennessee to anyone wanting to have a great experience. They have a great team that works from start to finish to make your experience the best possible. The jump masters all have thousands of jumps under there belts, so there is no worries about them knowing what they are doing. I'll be going back many times!

I've been to Skydive ET twice now and had a really good time on both occasions. There's indoor packing areas that are kept clean and there's a covered porch for you to hang out on and watch the other jumpers from. Everyone is really friendly and willing to help, especially if you're a beginner. I took a friend to tandem there for her first time and they treated her well and made sure she got the experience she wanted. The only drawback to the dz is the lack of big aircraft, they only have a 182 and 206. Hopefully they'll be able to expand in the future and make this a truly great dz.

I went there a few weeks ago, after having not jumped in 30 years, lol sounds crazy right? They were very nice and got me set with gear and I had 3 nice jumps, getting back in the sport, I missed it bad. I'm an old school jumper D-5496, I will return as soon as the weather warms up, thanks to you all for a great weekend.

I went to Skydive East TN this weekend with friends from Ohio and we were all amazed at what a great Dropzone this is. The only bullet points I rated less than 5 for the DZ were aircraft variety and rigging services, and that's only because it's hard to give a DZ without a turbine a 5 and I don't know much about their rigging. If I could have skipped those options rather than rate them lower, I would have.

This is a lovely, warm, gorgeous DZ that deserves attention. Thanks for the good times, guys!

Located in a very scenic part of East TN.
Nice new facilities and equipment. Friendly and Professional Staff. Outdoor covered Packing, indoor packing, creeper area, nice mock-up for ALL aircraft. Just a great place that is honest and friendly.

I got top rate AFF to A license instruction here. Everyone is super friendly. The staff here are true ambassadors of the sport and make a special effort to make everyone from observers to tandems to students to experienced up jumpers feel at home. The DZ has many great features including a huge outdoor pack tent, HOT showers, park like camp ground with stream, swoop pond and more! The grass run-way doubles as a soft landing area. The only thing missing at this DZ is a turbine aircraft. I would highly recommend this DZ to anyone in the E. TN area. :)

The DZ has a great campground and heated/cooled indoor packing building. They just finished a new packing pavilion that will hold 30+ packers at a time. Cool pea pit to land in. Awesome swoop pond that is getting better every week. Showers on site. The DZ is very friendly to up jumpers and never bumps up jumpers for tandems. Great student program, DZOs are really committed to bringing more jumpers into the sport and are not just out to make money. Awesome DZ all around, and the only one in East Tennessee that welcomes up jumpers and has running water.

I came to this dropzone with no advance notice and was picked up and introduced to the crew VIP style in short order. Despite AFF students making jumps and a tandem making her second I still found myself on 2 loads. There is no bumping up-jumpers here. Coming from one of the world's busiest turbine DZs it was great to slow down and enjoy the day and the friendly people. I am planning on returning any time the opportunity presents itself.

Skydive East Tennessee is an awesome, brand new dropzone with a top-notch staff and equipment. There is plenty of air conditioned packing in the manifest building, the landing area is huge, the scenery from altitude is awesome with the views of Douglas Lake and the mountains, and the people are awesome! The location couldn't be better, it is just a few minutes off I-40. I am so glad this DZ opened up so close to my home. If you're ever in East Tennessee you should definitely come check us out!

This dz is definitely worth checking out. I stopped by Saturday to check out the facilities and staff and was impressed with both. The facilities are brand new, clean, and air conditioned. That's nice on a hot July day in East TN! They have also created some very nice creek side camping spots in the shade along with some fire pits for the obligatory camp fire. All of the staff and other jumpers were very friendly, welcoming and more than happy to answer any questions I had. Nash had me suited up with practically brand new rental gear and on a load within thirty minutes of arriving! I made one jump Saturday and will be going back this Saturday to make at least one more! This is a good dropzone that will only get better with time and the support of local jumpers and will be the place to Skydive East Tennessee!

New dropzone that is being run very well and really takes care of the fun jumpers. Great AFF instructors that have been in the sport long and have a great safety record. Also wonderful views of Douglas Lake and the Smokey Mountains. SET is the place to go.
