I went with my friends to jump and was pretty exited . My appointment was at 2 o clock on 8/23/2015 but the lady at reception could not schedule us till 5 pm .Finally I was so excited to jump , I was on the plane with my friend , instructor and pilot . When we reached 5k ft height , one of the cylinder of the plane bursted and every one got scared . Oil started spilling on the front mirror of the pilot and he could not see where he is going properly , so we had to do emergency exit . I would suggest NOT to skydive from this place at all because there is high risk to your life . The plane they use is very OLD and you will get a feeling that things can go wrong anytime when you are on it . coming to instructor , they are very professional , they exactly knew what to do in this situation .I have no complains for them at all but sky-dying is suppose to be fun and adventurous not scary and the plane they use I would not suggest /recommend any one to jump from this location .I feel sorry for the instructors because they seems to be very professional but stuck at bad location .

From the reviews I've read, it seems the staff may have changed since I've been there. (October 2014)

Mike Stone is the new owner and is great about being communicative. My boyfriend and I did our first tandem in October because Groupon was running a special. We went up and they were running a 2nd tandem special, we bought 4 more jumps before we even went up. Great time, the instructors (Jay and Joe) were awesome about letting us know what to do. When we landed we scheduled to go again the next weekend. The second tandem was as great, if not better/more enjoyable for me, as the first.

3 weeks later we decided to start our AFF training course the day after Thanksgiving, because that was the only day we were able to take off work. Again, very accomodating staff. Mike and Aaron are our AFF isntructors, both very hands on and answered all questions I had. Very professional and relateable at the same time. Our first solo jumps went amazing, as well as the second and third.

We have three jumps left and would love to go every day until we're finished if time/money would allow. All the staff at SCS is wonderful, this last jump we even stayed after and pitched in for food. Two recently graduated AFF students did a few jumps that day and stayed after as well, Mike was great about introducing everyone to each other.

Overall, great place. They have a temperature controlled area inside, with a bathroom, vending machine, and seating. Outside they have seating, picnic tables, cornhole, and horseshoes. Although, hearing the instructors talk about their experiences is much more entertaining to me. The skydiving family they've built is wonderful and I can't wait to be up there more once it starts getting warmer!

I had a jump today, the staff was very friendly and personable. The zone appeared to have two aircraft, but they were only operating one today. They had an air conditioned waiting room with seating, and a bathroom. They also had outside seating which I preferred to sit in instead. The staff was very accommodating, letting my group jump with the other members that they wanted. I waited a bit past my reservation time, but that was entirely due to weather. If you don't like the weather in SC, wait 15 minutes, it'll change. I paid 189 + 10 for a change in jump height from 8k to 10k, and I feel the extra $10 was worth it. I had a great time, and would recommend South Carolina Skydiving to anyone!

I'm sure out of the approximately 1000 tandems I took people on with Scs, there would be a few unhappy people. Weather got in the way a few times, it seemed like it would never stop raining or have a low cloud layer. Two days we had to share the airfield with a crop duster, unfortunately this prevented us from jumping.

Our staff is incredible, we have been able to get 36 tandems up to 10,000' and land them safely in one day, with only two instructors.

It's unfortunate the guy complaining hadn't booked on that day...

We are planning to teach AFF this season.
We love to take students on skydives, we live for it.

Our manager is an incredible person, he was able to overcome many issues.

This second season proves to be a much better one, we have a veteran crew(and we are all army veterans).

The first year of a business is always the most challenging, we did everything in our power to make things work. This second year we will surpass all expectations.

This is the second time I tried to skydive with the company and both times they cancelled when I was there. Secondly, I paid extra for an altitude adjustment and was told it would be refunded. After a week I contacted Scott the manager and asked where the refund was. He told me he couldn't refund the money due to unforseen circumstances (what really happened was they forgot to file paperwork to tell the cropdusters we would be diving..that's what I was told when I was at the location)

I wouldn't use this company and I definitely wouldn't recommend it. They definitely need better management to take care of the business side of things.

This started when I bought 4 Groupon vouchers to go tandem skydiving with this company. First, I called the # provided on the voucher that it tells you to call in order to schedule, and they told me that I need to call Groupon because they do all the scheduling now for Groupon purchasers. When I did call Groupon they had no clue what I was talking about. I had to be transferred to 3 different people to figure it out.

Anyway, I scheduled to go Nov 3 (this was two months prior). Within those two months, I had called the company to try buy a regular ticket for a friend, and first they told me they will no longer honor a Groupon purchased prior to sept 2013 (mine was bought in June) and I should call Groupon for a refund because they won't honor it. This didn't sound right, so a few days later I called again, this time a woman told me that was inaccurate and she saw us on the schedule for Nov 3 and all is fine.

My friend went ahead and purchased a separate ticket, (for $300) and all seemed fine. Three days before the jump, I called to double check the time we needed to be at the jump site, and a woman told she didn't see us on the schedule AT ALL, plus she couldn't find my name or any of our names in the system, including my friend who had just bought a regular ticket. She did say however, that she just happens to have an opening for Nov 3 at the 11am slot. So I told her to put us back in that time slot and there will be 5 people going.

The next day, I called again to double check that we were still scheduled and a lady said, yep, we have you down for 4 people. So once again, I said no, there are 5 of us. She said ok. Now 1 day before the jump a guy from the company called me to confirm and he said we have you on the schedule for 4 people. Once again, I said no, it's 5 people. So Nov 3 comes and we're driving up to the site, when a phone call comes in and the guy tells me they're crop dusting around the site and had to cancel and they had NO clue they'd be crop dusting today.

I called the airport he said they were doing it out of and they said they weren't crop dusting at all. This company requires you to give a 72 hr cancellation notice, but they can give you a one hour notice and not refund your ticket. (my friend asked to refund the non-Groupon ticket he'd bought). I understand if the weather is bad, but my guess is they were overbooked. This company is not worth trusting your life to. That is for sure. If they skydive the same way they schedule, everyone is screwed. At this point, I'm glad it happened, because there were major red flags leading up to today that told me not to go. Good luck!
