I have known the folks at Blue Sky Adventures for over 4 years. Everyone is always friendly and willing to make a jump with anyone regardless of their experience. The camper sites and showers are always kept clean and functioning. An RV park is located 1/4 mile from the DZ if all slots are taken at the DZ.
On clear days, the Atlantic is clearly visible. Close surrounding areas include "Shreks Swamp" which is highly visible and there are plenty of outs located around the surrounding 3 mile area. Cross country canopy flights happen at least twice a month.
The RW scene is highly progressive with numerous regulars that possess awards and medals. Quite often, the RW teams there are in competitions.
The Free Flying scene is a lot of fun with everyone always willing to try what ever!
The swoop scene is up and coming with positive work towards a new swoop pond. Careless swoop activities are always adressed in a polite manner to ensure the safety of all involved.
Overall, BSA is a very safe DZ yet they are willing to let it all hang out! It hosts the Harvest Moon Boogie (one of the most politically incorrect boogies in the USA) every October. It is definitely a place that you will remember as a lot of fun with a laid back friendly atmosphere.

Located between Charleston and Columbia, South Carolina. Not far from I-95 and I-26. Flying some type of turbine, year-round. The main landing area, close to the packing hangar can get congested with traffic - landing patterns are strictly enforced, but if you feel cramped use the much larger open areas around the runway. There are limited outs when the winds are blowing perpendicular to the runway, or on spaceball jumps over "the swamp" - don't be afraid to pull higher to get back to high ground.

This is a great example of what a dz should be. All the foundations of a dz I hope to see grow into something big!

The staff and locals are full of a great mix of southern grace, drop-zone humor, strong skills in multiple disciplines, a sharing additude, and a party waiting to happen...

Turning into the driveway of this dropzone feels like that last turn you make on the way home...

Great DZ and even better people. Great home away from home, especially if your one of the camper peeps. All disciplines melt together here. If you aren't having fun we'll fix that.

I went there for a skydiving competition and I was very impressed with their facilities and professionalism. I highly recommend anyone that is in their area should check it out!
