This place has a lot of great instructors, a good aircraft, and a great altitude ceiling. That being said, it's a tandem factory. I heard one instructor say on a good saturday they can get up about 150 tandems. The bad side of that is for fun jumpers. I was there for six hours and barely got in four jumps (fourth was a fun load at the end of the day). Tandems take priority and fj's will just sit around hoping for a slot to open up within the next five loads. Great for tandems, terrible for fun jumpers.

I went up to the airport by myself the morning of 9/18, excited and a bit nervous. Not sure what to expect I was delighted with the overall demeanor of the staff, professional office staff, and Belvin, the videographer, and Matt, my tandem instructor, were both fun, friendly, and comforting, making me feel less nervous and ready for the jump. The weather was perfect with clear skies, and the view was just beautiful! I can't thank them enough for the perfect skydive, and I can't wait to get the video! I've all ready purchased my next tandem and am considering the aff class there. Thanks guys!

My experience was awesome. I went with my sister and three other friends on July 13th 2008. We drove about 2hrs to Pennridge in Perkasie,PA and everything went smoothly. I was extremely nervous seeing that I had never even been in a plane before, but my instructor Pete was funny and one of the stunt guys sitting next to me in the plane calmed me down a bit. Overall, the staff was very friendly, the view was amazing and the landing wasn't bad at all. If and/or when I go again I will definitely go back to Pennridge it was a crazy experience that I will remember for the rest of my life!!

Upon billing me in advance and making an appointment with someone who i could barely hear i was double billed. The charge was subsequently taken off but they had also erased the supposed appointment they had made at the Perkasie site for me and a friend. Trying to get into contact with someone who actually knows what's going on in this company will be an all-day adventure (if you can actually find a valid phone number). Eventually, 6 hours and 3 voicemails later to their 'customer service' line got me no where and i was forced to dispute this charge with Visa which im still waiting to hear back about.

I originally called skyride, thinking I was calling the actual dz. I thought I was in trouble, but everything seems to be working out. It was a great day, but there were supposedly bad winds so I couldn't do aff. They offered to give me a tandem, and deducted the cost off the money I paid for aff which I thought was great. I was in the air within 20 minutes. I don't know the whole story of how they got in business with skyride, but it's too nice of a dz to be associated with those people from skyride. in my opinion anyway. my aff course got rescheduled to 2 weeks from then.

Just make sure you're calling the actual dz and not skyride

I understand that there is some confusion as to the name of this DZ and concern with its affiliations, but my first jump experience with them was fantastic! My tandem instructor, Rob, was perfect. He made the experience fun and relaxing. I've watched the video they made for me a dozen times already and I intend to return for a second jump. Whatever issues they may have had appear to be behind them, as I had an easy, exciting experience from beginning to end.

A friend of mine tried to take a first jump course at this DZ. She called the number and made the appointment before I found out this is one of the skyride dz's. They charged the credit card in advance and claimed that it was non-refundable. She went to the "dz" at the appointed time and no one was there. The airport manager said they hadn't been there for weeks. She called and they apologized and made a new appointment for the next weekend. The same thing happened then. When she complained they told her that it since it was winter they couldn't guarantee her that they'd hold a class. A much different story than when she called the first two times. My friend ended up filing fraud charges with her credit card company to get her money back.

Maybe during the summer they actually Do have some skydiving going on...but i'd be weary of people who treat customers the way these guys do.

Trust me. There are other DZ's around the area. You should take your business where it will be appreciated.

skydive pennridge is a great place to skydive. The staff, Aaron, Brian, Mark, Josh, Some old dude named Belvin and his lovely wife daggie and even Wendy the dropzone mom make it a family like dropzone. The view of lake nockamixon and the big quarry give you alot to see in freefall and under the parachute. The king air is nice as well as the pilots. Overall you will enjoy your ride at skydive pennridge. After doing 10 tandems {yes 10} i will be back to do more. Hope to see you there.

I got refered to this DZ from a website called NewYorkSkydiving... well it's not in NY it's in Pennsylvania Quakersville.. And it'll take you longer than 1.5 hours.
After booking and paying the nonrefundable full upfront fee I read some website that says if they have to ask you where you're coming from before they tell you the location, something is fishy. Ashley also told me my previous tandem jump would count towards the IAF training. Seems like everyone wants you to repeat the jump b/c the $ issue. (understandable)

And that's the general vibe I got, business. They advertise that they take you to 14500'. We jumped at 14000'. They of course ask you once you arrive would you like to purchase an extra height for 10$ to get you to that altitude. If you don't pay the 10$ more you only jump at 9500'. That's probably they're way of collecting gratuities in the form of cold hard cash versus the customary case of beer. =)

I took some local roads and saw the corn and wheat fields. Detours made me arrive late, but they were cool about that and still got me up there. Like I read in someone else's review, you could be waiting for a long time before they get you up there. Probably because after each flight, someone is working on the engine and tightening some screws.

Poop before you go, they only have a porta-potty by the side of the hanger, and when it gets hot outside.. you can figure out the rest.

The training vs instructor. I've done my first tandem in longisland, NY and I noticed one big difference. In LI they helped you loosen the leg harness that's around your crotch by giving you support by allowing you to step on top of their feet. Over here in Pennridge airport, I had to help myself.. only after i started loosening my own harness during the tandem did he mention i would want to do that.

Another difference, is the stink factor of the harnesses. Seems like there are more stinky harnesses in Penn. ;) No wonder people get their own gear. To avoid the maid of the mist effect.

Despite the vibe and what not, i'd still go back. It's about the jump.

Constructed in the 1960's, next to the Pennridge industrial park, four thousand foot runway (smooth as a pond), huge landing area, still plenty of "safe outs". The view of the abandoned west rock hill quarry from thirteen thousand feet is spectacular, especially during the autumn months. The emerald green water in the quarry nestled within the changing foilage, offers an absolute "post card" image, that makes an unmistakable heading, and reference point for new jumpers. Although begining operations in may of 2004, the staff and management, are already providing such services as rigging, sales, and instruction.(AFF tandem etc.) It's been a real kick to have been able to see this place from the beginning. Watching some of the locals come out for a tandem, and then seeing them graduate the AFF course, and start jumping on their own. It's also been a breath of fresh air to those of us who aren't entirely comfortable with the "assembly line" feel of a Crosskeys-type DZ. That might come later,as the popularity of the place grows, but for now it's got a really good vibe.

This new DZ is very friendly, a great place to jump. They have great gear and very experienced staff. They plan on having a porter before too long, I really look forward to that. It's great to have this place here, before I had to drive 2 hours to get to a big DZ. THis place has big DZ potential, but the feeling of a small friendly DZ. I hope to see you guys out there!
