I did my first skydive yesterday at Maytown and had an awesome time. This was a tandem jump and never felt pressured at any time. I wanted to do this as a birthday celebration and knock one more item off my bucket list. The team at Maytown was exceptionally professional and were all very friendly and welcoming newcomers like myself. The experience was definitely unforgettable. This is something I will likely pursue doing more frequently. Thanks for the great time Maytown!!

I started skydiving almost one year ago and got licensed at Skydive Delmarva (another fantastic DZ). Delmarva is 2.5 hours from where I live and I had no idea Maytown Sport Parachute Club (MSPC) existed until I looked on drop zone.com. MSPC is 60 minutes away. I had no idea what I was in for...

Skydiving changed my life and the people at MSPC changed my life again. I have amazing new friends now and learn from World Champions. I feel so lucky and honored to be a part of the club. New jumpers will be shocked to learn that coaches teach for free and don't accept tips because this isn't a commercial establishment, it's truly a club, just a bunch of skydivers all having fun. Once you start jumping here, you'll become part of the family. Once the beer light is on you'll be downing Red Stripe with your jump pilot, the club president, a few world champions and among the most well known riggers in the country. You owe it to yourself to check out Maytown.

If you have EVER thought, "Skydiving seems pretty cool, I should try it sometime," I have two words for you: "DO IT!" I took my first jump 48 hours ago & I SO want to jump again! The crew at Maytown Sport Parachut Club truly love what they do & want to spread the enthusiasm. I had a blast & they made me feel completely comfortable. Thanks John for making my 1st jump such an awesome experience! I'll be back...

As a new learning jumper it was nice to have a DZ less than 15 mins from my house. The moment I came here I fell in love. The atmosphere is unbelievable. Everyone is like a huge family with welcome arm, willing to take on the next addition to the club. It really is a club. They do tandems just to pay the bills and bring new people into the sport. I have been to Chambersburg, and yes I love the big fast planes but id rather go to Maytown. Hell I go to school 3 and a half hours from home and STILL travel that distance to jump even though there is a DZ an hour away. All I can say to sum this up is come out, make a jump. Ill bet Maytown is added as one of your favorites.

I've only jumped a couple of times now, but Maytown is what got me hooked on the sport. The best people, best instructors, low key/low pressure environment, very affordable rates, and plenty of encouragement and advice from the seasoned vets. It's a rural airfield, so the niceties of the city may not be as prevalent (bathrooms, sinks, etc.), but it's completely made up by the atmosphere.

They have two 1950s/60s model straight-tail Cessna 182s that have been up-engined, and one that has had wing extensions to squeeze a few more operational feet out of it. While the paint may not be very pretty, these old workhorses seem reliable and are by all accounts lovingly maintained.

The fact that they aren't there to make a buck, but rather just for the love of the sport and to introduce others to this pastime (lifestyle?) only serves to make it a better experience. Even if you're here to just do a tandem jump, it will not be one of the "cattle through the chute" experiences you'll get with some of the bigger for-profit DZs in the region. You'll get personal attention and encouragement from the instructor who will answer any questions you have and will make you feel right at home.

I never had any urge to become a skydiver but a friend of mine asked me to try it out. I went to the DZ, completed my IAD course and have never looked back. There is no place I would rather be. Everyone is extremely talented and willing to assist with anything and everything. If you have a question, someone has an answer. There is so much experience and love for the sport here. When you visit, you feel like family. Come out and visit and you will not want to leave. Not only do we have Dave DeWolf and Terry and Ann Ross, but the wild eyed Ken Plankenhorn. This DZ is the home of the Motley CReW - National US Gold Winners.

Weather you like crw, rw, vrw, or you are a student, iad or tandem, u can find world class skydivers at Maytown for all of those disciplines...

I started skydiving at Maytown this summer as an iad student... the club atmosphere actually allowed me to get into the sport for an amount of money that was reasonable...not for profit... the instruction you receive there is free except a reasonable 50 dollar per jump student fee which includes everything(even gear),precise and priceless... the other skydivers are easy going and patient with any and all questions... and always safe.. and at $18 for 10k not bad for seasoned flyers either!!!

I fell in love with this sport because of the people and the opportunity at Maytown... I hope if you are new and want the most amazing experience, or if you're a seasoned head-down flyer, that you stop bye there and say hi... You'll be glad you did, and a better skydiver for it!!!!

I went up to MSPC and even though I don't yet have my license, they treated me with the utmost respect. They were very friendly and jumping out of a cessna was a great experience. If you are in the area and even if you aren't, swing by...:D

A "club" rather than a business, where all is done for the love of the sport.
As a student I was looked out for and educated, never made to feel "outside, looking in'. All members are encouraging(like a big family). This is why I got back into jumping again.
It's also the home DZ of Dave Dewolf & Terry Ross.
Safety 1st, fun always at this spot of Lancaster(PA).
