I had scheduled a 3PM Skydive on Saturday, 6/6. When we arrived there, we were told we won’t be jumping until 5PM because there is only 1 instructor willing to do tandem jumps due to COVID-19. Now my first complaint is here: There should’ve been better scheduling if it was known that there is a lack of instructor availability. If it were a delay due to weather, I’d totally understand that. But in this case it was not, and so this is my first complaint.

My second, more important complaint: I went to jump with another person who jumped right before I did. They got the handcam photos and videos the day after the jump. Whereas I still have not obtained them 3 days later, despite paying for the package. Whenever I ask on phone, I’m told to send an email and it takes a whole day to get the response. And twice I’ve gotten the same response, “Please check the email used during registration as we sent it twice”. This is completely incorrect. I did check the same email (I believe I have that much common sense), and there is no link that was sent to me for the pictures and videos. Now I’ve been told the owner is out of office today so I will have to wait yet another day, and hopefully not with the same response a third time. EDIT: I did get the dame response a third time. And now back to square one.

In short, the skydive was great, but the customer service is severely lacking in my opinion. Long response times and no helpful response so far. I can only hope they haven’t misplaced my photos and videos.

In fact, I was on the verge of registering for my AFF because I am very much into this activity, but now I’m on the fence regarding the company and the service overall.

If somehow my opinion changes on their service, I’m respectfully willing to reconsider my review. But so far, very disappointed.

Friendly down to earth (pun intended) place where the people really make the difference. Some of the aircraft seem to have a few years on them but they got the job done fine. They were very good about safety; being my first jump I felt confident that it was going to go fine. I may have went on a busy day because I took a quite a while longer than anticipated but definitely worth the wait. Would recommend and plan on going again for sure.

I'm one of Jaime's A-license "babies" and this is my home dz. Ever since I first visited SWC (back in 2008, while they were still in Richmond) I knew for sure that if I got licensed, I'd do it thru them (regardless of living 2 hours away). Why? because Jaime doesn't screw around one bit when it comes to safety. Also, they really make you feel at home. More on that later.
If you come to SWC now that it's in Lebanon, it's really easy to find. The packing area is clean and plush, we have a C-182 and C-205, and the landing area is a set of fields at the far end of the runway (they fetch you with a truck). There's a separate smaller landing area for tandems located in front of the hangar. You're allowed to land there with a C-license.
Most important part: the people are quite welcoming, even if you're a low-timer. As soon as I got stamped, they invited me on RW loads and started teaching me everything they could. And now these people have seen me thru everything from my 1st whuffo breakup to my 1st Z-hills trip! Their support made these novel experiences so much easier to deal with.
So if you want to jump with genuinely nice folks who make great year-round friends, come here!

A typical person arriving at SWC is going to see a fairly large group of people smiling, laughing, and enjoying life in general.
You would greeted with professionalism and personalized care to meet your needs. IE: Visitor, Tandem, Aff, S/L, Experienced. You will be treated with respect. Without greed in mind, we are there to have a good time, as we always do!. However the good times are not free Our DZO Jamie needs our support if we wish to continue to Skydive Wayne County.
See You at Skydive Wayne County!\\

Jaime,
I want to say thanks for another awesome boogie. I wasn't able to jump this year because of the 2 buns in the oven =O) and I still had a great time. I'm already pumped and ready for next year!!!

I helped work the boogie since I was 13 and it is the best one I have ever been to. I can not say anything but go see it for your self and you will not want go any were but SWC. It rocks!:)

I went to DZ with sort of a problem being
a bit on the larger size. I work construction and weight lift so my weight
was to high for student chutes, most people would have just said no but the staff at Wayne County DZ were great
Jamie and Amy worked things out with one of the instructors and two weeks later I am taking my class for static line and have made 2 jumps and have plans to get my license in the spring. If there were
a award for the greatest peaple and DZ they would get my vote. GREAT PEAPLE ARE HARD TO FIND. A+++++

Skydive Wayne County is a top-notch dropzone and is run with the highest quality of safety. Not only is it a USPA-affiliated dropzone, but the instructors are knowledgeable, the aircraft is well-maintained, and the entire environment is inviting. Members do their best to accommodate everyone: from students to migrating, experienced jumpers. Check out the "THE" Boogie *AND* visit before that to see the skydiving community.

*ADDED BONUS* -- office/ manifest/ some staff/ supervising positions are female-driven!!! (Jaime, Amy, Donna, Hollywood, etc. ROCK!)

What a super friendly DZ. In what seems like the middle of nowhere is a very large airport - over 800 acres according to rumors.

This is the home of the famous Richmond "The Boogie" - mother of all boogies. The dream started by legends like the Stewart family and Roger Nelson is alive and well under the eye of a much younger, but still skydiver-oriented family owner Jaime.

I don't know how she does it, sometimes. The weather sucks for months out of the year, but somehow she has managed to keep a turbine flying the rest of the year.

If you are in the Cincinnati, Indianapolis, Dayton or Columbus areas, call first for detailed directions. The shortcuts by back-roads can cut off a good bit of drive-time from some of these places.

There are couches to crash on, and ample camping space, but it's very close to Richmond, with decent restaurants and lodging.

Tell Jaime Cajones sent you!

First of all the area is an awesome place to skydive with green fields of corn and beans and sleepy farm houses for miles in every direction. The local people are so sincere and friendly, city types will be taken aback.

The '03 Boogie was as efficiently run as any I've seen in my 20 short years, including the now infamous Quincy. Rides included a helicopter, biplanes, Skyvan, Otters and the Chicagoland Kingaire.

The wait for jumps was nearly non-exsistent. In addition none of the disappointing behavior from jumpers or locals was seen; whatever might have occured was swiftly handled thanks to the fatherly supervision of DZO Steve Stewart and his family.

Food at the event supplied by local vendors and onsite restraunteurs was excellent and fair priced.

If your not totally impressed with the Richmond Labor Day Boogie- I'll eat a bug.

I've been to a few places in the states and this dropzone kicks the proverbial behind. The weather tends to roll in v. quickly in this part of the world but the pilots and instructors called each situation impeccably. Staff members are super friendly and incredibly helpfull. V. large packing area, efficient riggers, massive landing area (which never mattered as every spot was bang on) and buckets of fun. Dropzone owner is a diamond too. Cant give the place enough praise, well worth the 3000 mile journey.

This is my home dz... cant say much other than I have 3 other dz that are closer and I have never been to them... I would rather drive 1.5 hours than even take a weekend to check out a dz thats 20 min away! the people are great...I love the way that there is not the segregation here. The FF's get along with RW's and etc... whatever your discipline this palce can accomodate (shy of a swoop pond). Home of THE boogie make this place awesome as it is, but even on a "normal" weekend we get hoppin and try everything. This past weekend for example I did 13 jumps of which included hop and pops, track dives, free fly, hoola hoop jumps, swooping, and a little more freefly:) all in all this is a great place and if you are in Indianapolis, or Cincinatti, or Columbus you should check this out...

I went to richmond for The Boogie in 2002. What an awesome time. They had top notch organizers and i learned a lot. I can't wait to go back on a "normal" weekend to see what the place is like. But if you've never been to a Richmond Boogie, you don't know what you're missing!!

My wife and I started jumping here in June 2001 and find it to be a wonderful place. Their safety record is flawless and their instructors are all wonderful and extremely helpful. I am glad that I chose this DZ to do our training at and to spend our jumping days here. The staff is awesome, the planes are awesome, and the people there are awesome as well. I couldn't think of going anywhere else.

This is the *ahem* precursor to the second time I've been to a dropzone other than the one I learned at.

I went to Indianapolis to visit my parents and decided to try out Aerodrome on the recommendation of a fellow DZ.com-er.

The staff is extremely friendly and safety conscious. I was there on a Thursday and things were kind of slow, but everyone I met and jumped with were really nice and very accepting of me. I didn't detect any hint of sky-godness in the people I met.

It was also a special day because I brought my Dad to do his first tandem. He had an absolutely wonderful experience. We both had complete confidence in the equipment and competence of the staff.

The airport is huge. I can't imagine landing off. Nice facilities. Big hangar with a large packing area. It's not air-conditioned, but then summers in Indiana are nothng like summers in Houston! :)

If you're in the area, definitely check them out!

I'm an Aerodrome Local. So I am obviously biased. But, considering that Aerodrome is just outside Richmond, Indiana and I live in Columbus, Ohio there are definitely reasons why I choose to pass at least two DZ's on my way to Aerodrome...

1. Basic Safety...It is a priority at Aerodrome, not an afterthought or something to which is only paid lip service. From my first jump course to first flight under a ZP canopy to everything else that has posed any new challenge, the instructors, jumpmasters, coaches and locals have been there to offer advice and guidance in an effort to offer me the safest possible environment in which to experience all aspects of this sport.

2. "Advanced" Safety...Whenever you leave the ground for a jump you are putting your life into the hands of the pilot AND that aircraft's mechanic. At Aerodrome we have the privelage of flying with Steve Stewart (Aerodrome's owner), who is not only one of the most experienced jump pilots in the country but is also a certified and highly experienced aircraft mechanic. Also, Steve holds ratings for Static Line Instruction, AFF, Tandem, Master Rigger and Rigger Examiner. Not to mention that in his early years in the business he obtained a TSO for his harness-container system, the Sweethog. So when flying with Steve you know that not only is the pilot exceptionally qualified to fly the plane you're in, you have someone who understands and cares about the people he's carrying. Granted, Steve isn't always the pilot, but you can be certain that any pilot Steve puts in his planes not only knows his job but also respects the fact that those people in his plane are not just "freight".

3. The DZ...Hundreds of acres of grass and very little air traffic. It's a rather large municipal airport and if it wasn't for Aerodrome I'm sure their motto would be "Richmond Municipal Airport...Sometimes Planes Land Here". Other than skydiving, there isn't much going on there. And if you do land out, the area which surrounds the airport is entirely agricultural. Just don't aim for the 'tall' corn. Also, if you were to land in water that you can drown in, you would have to be shooting for it!

4. The People (AKA The "Feel")...Certainly THE thing which helps me justify the two hour drive every weekend. I don't know how to describe them/it, except to say that the Aerodrome Crowd is awesome!

5. The Facilities...They're rather nice, but you'll have to check the post from Aerodrome about this. Beyond a place to pack out of the Sun and a toilet that flushes, I really don't care about the facilities. (Note: If you visit, stay clear of the couch, it's MINE!) But I should mention that Aerodrome provides plenty of opportunity for SUNSAT activities, such as grilling out, camping, getting naked on the...err, never mind.

So those are my thoughts on Aerodrome. I would write more but it seems to be long enough as it is, and besides, I'm out of beer.

Note: If you decide to visit Aerodrome (which you should) be sure to ask about how you can earn your official "Car Wreck T-Shirt".

Blue Skies!

This DZ has everything. There is CRW, RW, and Freeflying. Also home of the Richmond Boogie. Great planes, great skydivers, and an overall great staff dedicated to making the sport enjoyable and safe. Come visit and see why so many of us call it our home away from home.
