I stopped in here a few years ago. I know sorry for the late review, I had right between 100-200 jumps at the time. It was a great little DZ with a beautiful view and incredible people. I'm a country boy and to find such an inviting rural small town DZ was a real treat. I had to hit and run with a hop n pop but they made it an enjoyable experience.

I was digging through an old logbook and saw this little hidden jewel in there. They deserve a great review. I would say the only Con was the Cessna 206 but I come from a Cessna DZ so it was a little slower than ours but not as bad as some I have been on. The people make this place though by far.

My Home DZ.. this is where I learned and got my A... EVERYONE here is nice and WILL teach you EVERYTHING you need to know plus some. Instructors are in depth and will let you know everything even if you didn't ask, safety is huge here. Not crowded at all.

Only con is that the regular plane is a little C-185 but after being in a C-182 and taking 20min to climb to 10K I'm grateful for the C-185 taking 10min to 13,5K. Another con would be the drive from Buffalo but the scenery is beautiful so no biggie.

The best is at night when you can just camp out at the fire and talk about skydiving while enjoying a couple cold brews with some nice people.

Can't get any better than that. oh and this is NOT a business, It's a CLUB! One of the few left in the country and one of the oldest!

I took my first jump at Frontier in July and have been hooked on skydiving ever since. The crew at Frontier are all so friendly and knowledgeable and made me feel right at home from day one. They have really cemented my love for the sport. If you are looking to jump somewhere where individualized attention is given and you are a friend rather than just a number, Frontier is a great place to jump. Also, the surrounding scenery is beautiful, offering views of Toronto, Niagara Falls and Buffalo. Don't pass up an opportunity to jump at Frontier!

Frontier skydivers now has a full time twin otter from airohio. Hanks place restaraunt is also new this season serving hot dogs hamburgers and sandwiches.Unfortunately camping is not allowed. Motels are nearby.

I was visiting some friends in Rochester who wanted to try a jump. We decided to give this DZ a try because they had a Super Otter for the weekend.

I'm glad we did. Everyone was very friendly, and they were nice enough to do my friend's jump early because he had two small children who would have gone a bit crazy if we spent the entire day at the DZ.

They gave my friend the most complete tandem brief I've ever seen. They also did a good jump of briefing me on the DZ.

Worth a stop if you are in the area.

Thanks so much,
The planning, coordinating, fixing, fetching, and stressing - combined, a huge commitment of time money and peoplepower. I wanted to let you know we were all grateful and had a great time.
One weekend a month we close our dz, load up the planes and go. In early spring when we plan these weekends, Batavia is a given. And don't be bummed about the weather... it't the people that make the jumps, not the skies.

Frontier Skydivers Club is a Drop Zone that has been successful for over 30 years, due in part to the fact that there is NO Drop Zone Operator. This member run Center draws skydivers from a 100 plus miles radius. The B O D has been successful in arranging for turbine jump planes to visit on a regular basis. Otters, Caravans, Super Otters Turbine Westwinds, and an occasional Skyvan, have been made available to members and students alike, usually at least a couple weekends each month. Constant improvements to the facilities, the training programs, and the club owned student gear, assure regulars and visitors as well,
of a safe and fun experience, every time. Tandem, AFF, freeflying and relative work dives, are each important parts of the program. A collective experience level among the staff to rival many DZ's Nationwide, a positive and productive attitude, and an enviable safety record, are all factors which rank Frontier Skydivers, located in western New York State (within 15 miles of Niagara Falls) as a certain Drop Zone at which to log a few jumps, whenever a skydiver is in the area. Come out and see for yourself....... check it out at www.frontierskydivers.com

Spotty lift capacity is this DZ's biggest problem. They try hard to get turbines in each weekend. In a way that's an attraction, you're guaranteed to jump out of a wide range of aircrafts. Frotier often has super otters, caravans, and twin-bonanzas.

What they lack in lift capacity they make up in culture. Expect to find at least 30 people around the firepit at night, spanning over 3 generations of skydivers. Look forward to Linda Gath pulling out the "wang". Kids scurying around making smoke signals. Older jumpers telling stories of how things used to be, younger jumpers listening to the stories.

Ironically Frontier is a shorter drive from Toronto then - Skydive Toronto. The instruction is top notch, although the student gear is very dated.

If you're passing through, it's worth a stop. If you live anywhere between Cleveland, Syracuse or Toronto - it's worth the drive.
