When I arrived at the hangar carrying my equipment, I had to explain to the two members of the 'welcoming committee' that I wanted to make a skydive. They directed me back to the office -- located in the parking lot -- to complete their ten-page waiver. On the final page of the waiver, I was supposed to rewrite the last paragraph in my own handwriting (WTF?!). I left, never to return to that dismal operation.

I have traveled a bit during my skydive education. I have only jumped at 5 jump zones in 4 different states, but I have a good eye for safety. This DZ gets high marks on the safety brief and separation of landing areas.

The plane and equipment appear to be in very good condition.

The high altitude landings are not to be taken lightly (pun intended). If you are coming from sea level, up-size your canopy 1-2 sizes to ensure a good landing.

Had a chance to visit and had a good time. Happened to get there during an annual Ballon Jump Day. While I didn't get to jump a ballon it sure was hoppin' and everyone seemed to have a good time. Later on they fired up the plane and I was able to put in 3 jumps on their rental gear. Good briefing on the LZ, spot, rules etc. Had a blast and plan to return in the future and definitely for the ballon day. If you are visiting NM, give this DZ a shot.

I found all the jumpers/staff at this dz to be very friendly and the atmosphere was great. Everyone had a smile. I saw that the tandem instructors spent an amazing amount of time with their students as well as the AFF and coached students. The instruction was very personable and one on one. This is a smaller dz but they did have 2 operating c-182's that looked like they were in great shape (i did not fear the take off :) The rental gear is well maintained and they have a little bit of everything.
the landing area, well the elevation is 5,193ft so get ready for a FAST landing. The areas are away from the hangers but the van is there waiting when you land and their student landing is optimal as there are NO OBSTACLES anywhere (as you are in the middle of the high desert)and there are many many outs! I will definitely be visiting this dz again and I recommend it for fun jumpers and students alike.

I was in Albuquerque visiting family and brought my chute for a day of jumping. I arrived and found my way to manifest easily. I was greeted quickly and several people welcomed me. After the requisit paperwork, an instructor showed me the landing areas, talked about pattern, and because I jump a sea level, some help on landing at 5200 ft. As I entered the aircraft, I felt confident that it would be a good jump.

The only negative I had was with the pilot, and I personally had no problem. He spotted us short, and was lower than expected. An instructor on the load tried correcting the issue, with some success.

I will bring my gear the next visit to ABQ and I will be sure to visit Skydive New Mexico again.

On a roadtrip myself and a friend stopped by unsure of what to expect. We were greeted by many friendly fun jumpers who were all willing to lend a hand. Rigger on site (Danny) awesome guy willing to help out in a pinch! (Had some gear issues which he helped us resolve right away). Plenty of briefing not only for us as new comers, but great to see the amount of time and effort put into every student that comes in. 3 different landing areas. One for every comfort level. High Altitude DZ but the landings are FUN! Plane was clean and quick to climb. Great conversation and great family feel. Will be back for the water boogie for sure! DO NOT MISS THIS DZ!

These Skydivers are just one big happy family...
We enjoyed our visit and jump at Skydive New Mexico.
Young to older experienced to new, all so friendly! Wonderful conversations and hosts.
New Mexico is one of the most beautiful states we've ever seen! The colors are beautiful!
Thanks everyone, it made a nice stop for us on our road trip.
Blue Skies!

When I was working in Albuquerque I brought my rig and was very glad that I did. Every single person that I interacted with whether staff or fun jumpers were extremely friendly and welcoming. With 2 Cessna's they did a great job organizing loads to accomodate fun jumpers and tandems alike. The scenery is fantastic and it was nice to see that they treat their tandems as students, both by providing extensive ground training and by providing them with altimeters and audibles. I would highly recommend stopping by and jumping with the fine folks at Skydive New Mexico.

Good place to jump if you're visiting. Not a lot of Free Fly, CRW, or any thing beyond belly flying. A few of the regulars swoop, freefly, etc. but most people are just chillin'. Scenery is pretty sick-Land on a Mesa between two desert rivers!
Not a lot of funding for the DZ so if you plan, are forced to rent-pick and choose what you put on...

I stopped by SDNM while on a road trip. It was very busy but everybody went out of their way to make me and my friend feel welcome. I have never met such warm, friendly, hospitable people. This also shows in how the staff treats their students and tandems.

The 5,000'+ altitude of the dz made landing interesting and effectively let me feel the effects of downsizing the cheap and easy way.

I only did one jump that day (by choice) but had a great time just hanging out with the folks. Please stop by this dz if you are in the area.

The Sunday I was there, the DZ was a little slow, so much attention was given to the newcomer. I felt important, they went out of there way to please. The jump went well, thanks to all at Skydive New Mexico.
