I got my A in Sussex,
Awesome instructors. Very experienced, Lauren the dzo is really great and got everything under control.
For the ladies among us, Sussex as a fair amount of female instructors/videographers.
Place is closed durring winter so pretty busy in the season, which is great cause there are a lot of loads.
More than enough packers. Always can find students and fun jumpers hanging around.
A great place as home dz!
2 minutes walk you have a diner open 6am to 3pm, 5 minuts there's a bar, open day too and a deli next to the bar.
Really great and easy to set up a tent for the weekend!
Oh and they got the Caravan, which can take 18 people and has no problem get you to 13.5-14

To start off, I am relatively new to the sport and decided to start my AFP training here after doing a Tandem in SC.

After passing my AFP here all I can say is the staff is amazing and the vibe is so warm and welcoming. It's a smaller drop zone with only 1 plane (now a Caravan with an amazing pilot) but the warm atmosphere is what keeps me coming back. The coaches are very professional and they have safety, especially for students, as a top priority.

I highly recommend this place if you are interested in getting your license or even just a tandem. I've also seen a lot of fun jumpers come around on the weekends so this place has it all for everyone.

This DZ is as friendly and laid back as you're going to get. I did my first tandem July 26 and have done all subsequent 60 jumps with my Skydive Sussex Family!
The DZO's, coaches, instructors, pilots and staff make you feel welcome from the moment you walk in the door. The go out of their way to make sure you have a good time and are taken care of. Fire pits and BBQ's are a weekend staple as well as awesome jumping.

As a new jumper it's always a pleasure to walk up to the packing tent and be greeted by friendly faces and a warm atmosphere.
Great food within walking distance as well as beautiful scenery in free fall.
Give them an afternoon and you'll be hooked on not just the sport of Skydiving but Skydive Sussex.

Rich Winstock, a USPA board member, now is a co-owner and operator of this DZ. If you're in the New York area, it's a must to get some jumps here in your log book. The staff is first-rate (I know them all -- refugees from another DZ). And if you're looking to do a tandem, I highly recommend Sussex because of the staff's experience.

This place is under new ownership, only have 2 182's and a 206 for now but getting a turbine soon. The staff is very friendly, the atmosphere is great. very close to NYC. They make you feel very appreciated and very welcomed!
